I don't think George has any cats or is even in Ohio presently.

    Vacuum Tube Supplier

Yep I used those same ones. It's what the ST70 guys recommend.

    Vacuum Tube Supplier

My ST70 is long gone but I put new production Mullard EL34s in it and those were Ruskie New Sensor tubes. My homebrew WE91A Amp needs a new set of 300Bs, it's running vintage 2014 PS Vanes (Chinee), but I'm considering JJ as well.

    Hello from Overundr1

Welcome! Last I had an AU-D7 in my bench I thought it sounded pretty good, not far off from my WOPL 400......

    JVC HR-S6700U

No Predictas had multiple shitty PC boards (even shitty by late 50s standards), add the heat of tubes and 60 years. Very difficult to restore TVs, and often have bad picture tubes with open filaments, bad capacitors, bad resistors, bad couplates.......

    Funny pictures...

Damn I havent seen that one in 15 years.....

    JVC HR-S6700U

I'm not sure, I think something dripped inside. The PC boards in these are crap, almost as bad as the ones in Philco Predictas. You will lift/break a trace if you look at it wrong. I have yet to pull the power supply, hopefully no brown shit leaking inside it......

    PL7000S2

Yeah I think I have a "Dolby kills the highs" situation on the TC-K71, non Dolby tapes sound fine, probably needs adjustment.....

PL400 series 2 with power switch and fuses on faceplate

Why are there 5 fuses? Did they have the good sense to put in AGC holders instead of the AGX holders? That switch will eventually give up tho......

    JVC HR-S6700U

Weird issue, no chroma (displaying an image without color) on s-video out, was due to some weird corrosion on the main video board. No puking capacitors so IDK WTF. A bad repair and a lifted trace later: And we got chroma

    JVC HR-S6700U

Okay we have full good HiFi audio in both channels! The parts unit (HR-S5800U) got here, I yanked its audio/riser board, recapped and wrecked the traces similarly to the other one but have audio somehow. I think I'm gonna watch a movie on it tonight......

    Wyn Palmer Phono Pre Build

Imma look into the V3 if I get the hankering to bolt a DL-103 to that Micro Trak arm......

    Wyn Palmer Phono Pre Build

Alright set up for 36db of gain. Just right! That TCC is a muddy turd in comparison. Amazing what a guy can do with a few resistors, capacitors, inexpensive op amps, an off the shelf SMPS..... And I don't care what anyone says, the EAR 834 is NOT a good phono preamp......

    TV LG or Samsung ?

Smart TVs are terrible. They should just make displays. 4 hdmi inputs, an ARC channel/optical output, and maybe an atsc tuner. But that will never happen, data mining operations subsidize the cost of TVs. That being said I'd like to see an OLED TV setup by someone who knows what they're doing...

    Wyn Palmer Phono Pre Build

The Stanton 500 type cart I'm using is too hot and overloading this preamp. The way I built it according to the documentation it has 43db of gain, I ordered some resistor sets to change it to 40db or 36db of gain. At the moment I've switched back to that TCC TC-750 phono preamp with its...

    JVC HR-S6700U

Yeah I'm thinking the 6700, 5800, and 4700 all have the same mech and a lot of the same circuitry.
