The PC boards in these are crap, almost as bad as the ones in Philco Predictas.
Philco Predictas? That’s going back a looooong way! I bought that VCR in 1992, hopefully electronics have progressed in that stretch of time. Weren’t those Philcos point-to-point?

(Damn… I’d love to have a Predicta- one of those pedestal models!)

No Predictas had multiple shitty PC boards (even shitty by late 50s standards), add the heat of tubes and 60 years. Very difficult to restore TVs, and often have bad picture tubes with open filaments, bad capacitors, bad resistors, bad couplates.......

They go for extreme bucks these days despite the fragility.
