" Child in time " from " Deep Purple in rock " and Sultans of swing .

after an heavy lunch at my father's home , on AR 9 at my home like a digestif .
Always full power of course .

However in our hobby ,
we generally use relative levels and not absolute levels .
For example we use dB to define gain and loss :
this line amp has a 15 dB gain or this phono amp has a 45 dB gain @ 1khz
In these case dB is only a number and not a value !
Anyway ,for me , it's correct to know...
Let's start from here :

Jim , before going on
what do you mean for elliptic filter ?
For me it's a Cauer filter .
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elliptic_filter
If I have understood well ,
you mean a device that filters only L-R part
( in other words below 150 Hz the signal is mono )
Good idea ! Below 150 Hz...
In Carver C4000 service manual you can find the electric diagram for a subsonic filter .
It's an active filter . Download it from HiFi engine .

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass_versus_weight
Read carefully this article , if you want .
It's not simple , but the mass is not the weight !
In the trade , however , for simplicity you can say that the mass is the weight .
