Well, I saw those same decks from a european fellow at Flicker. The same goes to the Maxell colored empty reels. Those decks were custom made by the owner himself. Perhaps our friend here is him. Who knows???

Well, this Otari is a Pro machine while the Technics is domestic, but I have never been a Otari's lover! I have always preferred Studer. Yes, Marc Studer deck is excellent, but those decks on pristine conditions cost a fortune today.

Marc could service almost everything. He specialized in Studer Revox but he also does Tandberg, B&O, Technics,etc. He tried to stay away from Naks,though. Problem is that he's always extremely busy...

Or a bad driver. The problem is that it goes on and off. It could be sounding excellent and suddenly it sounds awful for a while and come and goes...SHIT!

The EQ is perfect. The problem is the speaker and it's not the binding post. I'm suspecting it is a bad driver... My Carver has a "external processor" loop. That's where the eq is connected to. In or Out, the speaker behaves the same. Eventually, it must be recapped though.

Folks, I got these 901 speakers from a friend of mine with the tulip stands and the active eq. The speakers looks new, with all surroundings intact but suddenly the left speaker start sounding awful and distorted. I checked the speakers but there's not much to check: no crossover, only drivers...
