After all day of listening I ended todays listening session with all of "Museum of Consciousness" and the last-----God Particle-----and THAT Ladies and Gentlemen was almost a religious experience......


I am absolutely flabbergasted by how the K's sound now, how could I have been such an idiot for soooooooo long!

With skins on it is slightly worse. 1000uV on the left channel and 750uV on the right with skins installed.

It's gonna be way close Joe.....

I like you Lee can hear nothing and I mean nothing through the speakers with no input.

There's a little buzz when I input 2 volts or so..............on idle with nothing playing....and really all I'm doing there is amplifying the pre-amp residual...

When you're measuring noise in microvolts or fractions thereof can it get any better? Great job on the design and implementation of the hardware.

I think I can get my residual noise meter readings lower if I get rid of the original low grade shielded cable and improve that wiring..

This has been a very interesting thread and it's cool to see that things are working out quite well. Nice job on the build Lee.

Other than knowing that there is huge headroom there Lee, the sound is quite similar to the FC 400. It is hard to distinguish the difference at realistic listening levels. Through my Dynaco A25s the 700 sounds a slight bit smoother than the 400 but very, very close. I cannot wail on these like you can wail on the K's that you have Lee.

After Johan's, THAT will be an interesting build, more power less noise, STIFF power supply. I'm gonna enjoy that one. I'm short 2 700B chassis though.....Thanks Dennis...

Joe, I'm amazed these K's can do what they do, I'm seriously worried about the house, I mean shit MOVES!! Floor joists, studs, you name it.

There's some folks in Denver gonna get their shit BLOWN away in October....
