I was kinda hoping that you would make a metal mix tape for me, Ron ;). You seem to have a deep collection when it comes to this style of music and I am always looking for new bands to add to my collection.

I can try Doug. Both my decks have the flu LOL that's why I am really hoping about the 1250. I think I still have a couple JVC V series decks in the garage, have not ran them in a longtime though and never recorded with them. I would need some tips for your preferred settings

Big fan of the JVC V series decks myself, Ron. I use a JVC TD V662 as my main recording deck. Which JVC decks do you have?

I will keep my fingers crossed for you to get your CTF 1250- a deck I would like to own as well someday. Gotta send one of my CTF 950's to Tom for repairs/ calibration this summer.

TD-V66 and a KD-VR5. I always liked the looks of the meters and how good they sounded in playback sp I could not bear to sell them. They have sat in the garage unused for at least 8 years.

The V66's display turns on sometimes and sometimes not. Have to look into that might be a loose connection The VR5 works so far. Have to clean it up and see if it will do the job for you. I would use the Shure V15 type V w/ the Jico SAS but it is not even remotely broken in yet so the V15 type II w/ the Super Track will perform the duties. Have to see if I have any sealed cassettes left, I think I gave them all to Steven

Got the VR5 into my system now, listening to this nasty rap tape LOL, Rated X - Let's F_ck on SEC Records. I mean really REALLY nasty. Lee would have a fit if I posted an image of it even though it's a commercial release. The cartoon foldout is pretty funny

Listening to Mercyful Fate - In the Shadows factory recorded cassette on Metal Blade Records. Too bad this deck is black, would love to keep it in the ssytem as it sounds awesome but with WOPL's and silverfaced DSS-100 and the Carver C1 preamp I am switching in, black is definitely out
