Here's a tough one... Pretty Maids original 1983 debut ep on Par Records PAR1060L. Discogs does not even note this earliest version from Denmark. This was without a doubt their best offering. Great early Metal bordering on Heavy Glam
Def Leppard would have been my choice. Omen is pretty heavy Metal, not many people even know about Omen (I have original pressings of Battle Cry and Warning of Danger on vinyl)
I used to have that album, twas pretty good if memory serves me right. Only Death lp I have left is Scream Bloody Gore. I never agreed with what some said of them being the first US Death Metal band, to me it's heavy thrash. Death Metal to me is Hellhammer/Celtic Frost
If you are looking for some more cool 80's metal covers of tunes then I always thought Wrathchild America did a good version of Pink Floyds "Time". It's on their "Climbing The Walls" LP.

One great thing about the KLASSICS show (and most any day at KSHE), you get at least one if not two great Marshall Tucker tunes(along with all the other greats). Always makes me dig out my albums.
The KLASSICS show is an excellent way to dig deep into the music of the late 60's, 70's and early 80's. You can google KSHE KLASSICS and get a good cross section of songs and artists.
Soooooooooooooooo, when are one of you metal heads gonna put together a mix tape for me(us)? I am constantly amazed by the depths of record collections here and would love to do some more trades.
Still have a MD player and would love some more metal in the house. I am in the middle of putting together a jazz mix, would you like a copy when I am finished?
