I would not mind the "hits", been a longtime. I think 1997 was the last time I had some good windowpane

Track 6 off of "Are you Shpongled?" Track 2 off of "Tales of the Inexpressible" All of "God Particle", All of "Museum of Consciosness"

The first 2 are amp test tunes, the first 2 when amp testing. Then track 4 of The Crystal Method--"Vegas".

I am checking out God Particle now. It reminds me of Goa Trance or Hypno Music. It's actually pretty cool and I can hear the appeal. Perhaps have to pick up the God Particle ep

I dig The Infinity Project if any of you cats are fans, worth a listen. I also am a little into the Dark Ambient and Space Ambient stuff out there. With a good system, it just amazing how this stuff can sound

God Particle is the most un-Shpongle Shpongle recording there is. I love it but it is not what I'd suggest to anyone that wants to get a real feel for the band.

Infinity Project is a whole bunch of Raja Ram and friends including Mr Simon Potsford. Simon Potsford & Raja Ram ARE Shpongle for the most part. I have several of the Infinity Project cd's....

I suggest you go to youtube and pull up the Shpongle concert from '08 that is on there, Live At The London ROundhouse. That gives a great cross section of the tunes and gives you the full band as well.

When I was about 10, or around the early 90's Nazareth played a concert in an empty parking lot in the town I grew up. They surrounded the parking lot with transport trailers and safety fencing. My old man, my brother and I snuck under one of the transports to watch the show. My old man had recently bought a VHS vid cam. During the show a lady security guard caught us as my old man was filming it. She confiscated the camera, telling us that the band would have to review the footage after the show and they would decide if we could keep or erase the video. The old boy(as we called him) played a fast one on her, told her he'd erase the tape on the camera immediately. He recorded a bunch of video with the lens cap on and showed her the blacked out tape. That was enough to satisfy her, even though the blacked out portion was not the actual footage of Nazareth, yet just empty space on the tape. Somehow through all this he convinced her to let my brother meet the band. She took my brother through the fencing and up in the backstage area. The show was still going. At this point I believe Hair Of The Dog was playing, the guitar player came back and switched guitars, he handed my brother his guitar and told him to take care of it while he did the talk box part with another. After it was done he came and grabbed his guitar and gave my brother a pick. After the song was done they all came back and said hello to him and wished him well, then sent him back off the stage. She made us hang around until after the show to confirm with the band about the video. When she finally came back she let us know that the band didnt care about the footage we had taken anyways. And they did not care to confiscate the tape.

We grew up listening to Nazareth, and after that show, seeing how the band was actually really cool doods, only helped to keep us listening and loving the band. A great bunch of guys.

That's a great story, Ben. I would have been pretty nervous about the whole deal at at that age, but your dad was in fine form and able to teach his young uns some valuable lessons that day. Your pop was instrumental in the music you grew up with and appreciate today, I bet.

Nando.

He was Nando. It was not strange in my house to have music going almost all the time. If not the stereo than a kitchen receiver high up on a shelf with a set of Lloyds. I think I was about 8 when he traded his brand new Yamaha receiver(bought as a bday gift from my mom) for the 1801/4401. He finished off his Altec Lansings with it and not long after purchased the Yorkville Elite 401's. Not to mention in my teens I took up trade's working along side each other most of the time.

Hair of the Dog is still my favorite although after Ben's exhaustive list there's quite a bit I haven't heard.
