Does the ADC subharmonic synthesizer operate all the time?

It is between the preamp and the WOPL since there is no effects loop on the back of my CT-24. When not in use, it's is bypassed via the defeat button. I was popping woofs way before the ADC went into the system and I squarely place the blame on the DAIR circuit of the dbx-DX5 CD player. Yesterday, I shut all that shit off and started to climb the Mach meter but it was late so I never got to put the throttle to the firewall

Pushed the needles halfway into the red zone and sure enough, left speaker started to fart. No way I am pushing 300w into them hmmm... bass and treble controls are left in the middle position (neutral). Still get that huge surge of power when a track starts then the amp drops down to normal

Thats what sucks. I'm not a fixer!! So I don't even know where to start other than taking it to a tech. And my local guy seems to know his shit but has had my 1250 goin on a year. He works very slow lol. That's why I sent the 939 to Matt . So I'm not sure. The old plug on it is the 2 prong no ground. Had it plugged in a power strip and thought maybe that was causing the background buzz/hum/noise. So I went straight to wall with it.no help. And as far as the swirling I think I might have noticed that with fm going. I'm gonna use it a lot today so I'll see if it happens with other sources. The background noise is the worst I think when I use the aux slot and plug iPod in! I'm lost lol. I know I got about 400$ warped up in this thing between purchase, repair and shipping maybe 500$ lol
No, not the power supply, the tuning section from the tuning caqpacitor (the rptating plates) back to the antenna connections. If it's not that it's the MPX or alignment in my best guesses.

Like, my god, I'm not Mister Peabody.

Cool thank you for the ideas. I'm gonna call the tech today and ask him if I run it up if can take a quick look at it. Were under another wind chill advisory today. And from walking outside this morn I can see it drifted all night and I got brakes to try to bleed on car.thats why I wasn't around much yesterday. With 2 little kids and a wife. I was taking ppl to work, school and changed out the master cylinder but ran out of light and body heat before I could bleed them lmao. It sucked and it's gonna suck real bad today looking at -20 wind chill. Arrrgggg

I use a crowbar whenever I'm doing it solo... Pump the pedal, hold it down, jam the bar between the pedal and the seat, jump out bleed it, close it up... back in pump crow bar jump... takes a while but have had success.

I've done that before but with a cutoff 2x4 section. A little more stable then a crowbar, won't slip

Plow your backfield out Jason, I am warming up the Leer so I will be there in maybe an hour or so LMAO

Please help me understand exactly what's happening. Early in this thread you explained that "whatever source" you're running creates the surge. So anything...CD, Phono, FM, Tape...it happens with anything you're listening to?
The reason I'm curious is that if it's the DAIR circuit it would only affect the CD playback, right? Or is this a feature that can be used in the loop with other sources?
Also, I'm wondering what kind of preamp you are using...or is it a receiver? I am wondering if the preamp is direct or capacitively coupled. It sounds as if something is responding to a transient or peak level.
One other question...does this happen with tunes that kind of fade in at the beginning of the track, or does it primarily happen with a track that starts off with a bang, so to speak?
We'll figure it out.

The preamp I am using is a Carver CT-24 until I can afford to get my Carver C1 tone section redone. It happens with the CD player. I figured out that I had left the ADC DSS100 on after I was playing some lps so that caused an immediate BANG at the beginning of tracks. That was my fault, no issues unless I use the DAIR which I won't anymore. The ADC is still used for some lps that have crappy bottomend but I make sure it's defeated when listening to other sources. I just have to get the heat away from it better
