Opps - I thought that was an aspirin I took. Those cap logos are doing something strange. :happy7:

The light board is really nice and the latest revision adds some great features. I think I'd go with a new one. The incandescent lamps heat up the plastic causing it to become brittle so the LEDs make good sense.
Led's definitely... lots of colors to choose from too to match (hmm.. yeah/wow... I'm staring at the caps now.. :smokin:)

My sx-1250 that's still in shop getting restore. The tech wants to use led lights also. Said they will last forever and you can pick from a bunch of colors. I'm trying to pick a good color also.

Stick to the white and illuminate it as close to the colors that the indicators are in. When you are gone or do want to sell it the next lucky cat will appreciate that a lot.

All of those lamps were uncolored to the best of my knowledge and the dials and meters were colored with colored filters/paper whatever and accentuating the colored indicators won't look natural, maybe even garish.

If you look at a TX-500 you'll plainly see the dial is GREEN.

Yeah me too !! For about the last month I've been getting the run around on it. I have the 939 that mattsd off ak restored for me. But I've been using that upstairs with Polk monitor 5s hooked up to it. But it's acting funny I think. A lot of background buzz. And I swear the sound swirls or something. Not sure but I don't know it's acting 100% right either.

Have you pinpointed the swirling and is the tuner grounded correctly?

If anything else sounds the usual awesome that could be it.

YES, next to TOTL 1973-74, TX-9100 is basically a similar version of that tuning section.

That was the first thing I tried listening to You Tube with and I found out that Flash audio actually had balls, contrary to the whiners' theories :)

Thats what sucks. I'm not a fixer!! So I don't even know where to start other than taking it to a tech. And my local guy seems to know his shit but has had my 1250 goin on a year. He works very slow lol. That's why I sent the 939 to Matt . So I'm not sure. The old plug on it is the 2 prong no ground. Had it plugged in a power strip and thought maybe that was causing the background buzz/hum/noise. So I went straight to wall with it.no help. And as far as the swirling I think I might have noticed that with fm going. I'm gonna use it a lot today so I'll see if it happens with other sources. The background noise is the worst I think when I use the aux slot and plug iPod in! I'm lost lol. I know I got about 400$ warped up in this thing between purchase, repair and shipping maybe 500$ lol

We don't worry about shit like that here Jason, no worries at all. I just want to know what the deal is with the 1250!!!! As for your other one, it should already be on the way back to the dude that did the work. Sounds like some wierd oscillation you got going on

EDIT: Start a thread in the Receivers/Amps section and maybe the Pioneer guys will chime in, probably get more input that way, dudes here probably would have had both amps done in a month including burn in

Thats the prob lol it cost 45$ to ship each way lol. So I'm gonna have to go local and let him fig it out. This and that 1250 is why I need that second table from you lol. Plus I need a backup anyway.im hoping to have that 1250 this week or nxt. I keep talkin about my fully restored 1250 but All I have is seen it all cleaned and new caps and stuff. It is super duper clean but he is going through it with a fine toothed comb. Or at least that's the feedback I'm getting. Fingers crossed

Someday, I need to check out the 1250. That and a 1980 are the only Pioneer bigggun's I would want to own. I had a 1080 years ago but it did not have enough BALLS. At about 3/4 volume, it started sounding like shit so I traded it off for a guitar

The 1250 was givin to me by my uncle. I grew up listening to it through a pair of cerwin 316r's. I loved it but it has been out of commission for the last 12 to 15 years. So I'm bugging the shit out of tech lol. I want it bad and after a year you would think he would have it done. Always something lol

I've followed some of maatsd builds on AK. Never could figure out if he had a scope or not. Hard to tell if it's oscillating or not. The 1250 outputs are unobtainable IIRC, but there is a workaround....
