Ha! I'm still thinking about it...Thanks!
I know where you can get one? My brother has a few, and is able to part with one? It won't be for the "unbeatable" price of over a grand, like ebay 700's, but a dollar a watt seems normal from what my father said? A 700b is a must have. You will never regret it! :-D

Last one I bought was $146. Can't recall if it was supposed to work or not. I sent what was left to Lee.
The two before that were more than $700.

Sounds like over $700 is the average going rate. And premo ones go for more. I hear ya tho. I bought my first one in the 90's from a guy in the paper for $450. And today they are skyrocketing? Yes, Joe made these things excellent. He's also the reason for the prices. As Lee has suggested earlier in this thread. Take the 700B carcass, then WOA it; and you got an amp matching or besting today's amps that sell for thousands more. So we all feel it when we are trying to get one ourselves. The 400's tho don't seem to command those similar stratosphere prices? And its probably the wattage. People just love pure raw power. And the 700B delivers. :)

They butchered the most valuable part, the faceplate, by adding that green power indicator and messing up the rack handles.
Perhaps they were going for the audio research "look"? I believe their big amps had that green power indicator on them. Such as the D76 my father owned. The meters light up when the unit is ON? What other indication do you need? LOL!

I cant believe that thing sold for $700, someone is in for a disappointment :(
Kinda makes you wonder what a mint condition fully restored and WO`d unit would be worth.
If this trend keeps up, it wont be long before these amps find themselves in Marantz 500/510/510M price territory.
