Now, that is a good deal. Even with the repairs needed, it's not often you will see a trio like that be snapped up for a reasonable price. It just has to be the right person with the skills and parts to make it work. Congratulations on getting a successful bid, Lee.

Nando.

So, to put this in perspective. Saw a comparable amp to a WOPL 1000 on E-bay today----A Rotel RT-500B a 500 wpc monster, for the cool price of 7500.00. A direct comparison to a White Oaked 700.

Sure! The thing is if at the end it get sold! I simply doubt it. Many persons just put on sale an item with a crazy price testing the market and looking for an offer or for an even crazier buyer. My experience is that you'll see this amp going down in price until it gets to a reasonable, real price. Have you seen that Nakamichi 1000ZXL Limited on ebay for $7,000? 6 months later it was at $4,000 and no one even touched it! Ha! Sometimes these prices are just that: PRICES. The question remains: does it get sold? Naaahhhhh!

Congratulations on your recen aquisition. I'm contemplating to buy a PL, but I'm so deep in Crown that I'm not sure if I want to start another collection. Perhaps a 700 one of these days!

Cheers! :bounce:

I would be interested in knowing what the 4 offers he has received are. Whether it's lowball offers or someone's serious.

These prices are still going into orbit! I see some recent sales on eBay that are way out there.
700B over a grand. a couple of Thaedra pres, one at $582 and the other $710. A month ago these pres were selling for $400.

Damn!! The White Oak upgrades may have something to do with the PL prices, but ya never know. You'd think if that was the case the 400's would be drawing a little more interest.

C'mon, jump on in, the water is fine. I have many Crown DC-300s and now many PLs too. They mix well :)
