This will be an occasional thread where I intend to post various audio/music related links & musings that may/may not be of interest.

I’ll kick off with my favourite youtube video of the moment…

Falling Records

Fascinating, Daren. What I wasn't expecting was the dumped tape to be drawn back into the decks. I always look for symbolism in art like this, but I think it was just done for the dramatic effect. Or, is there a message?

And I can only imagine the responses.

Nando.

Lee: Deeper in meaning than I would have concluded from that work of art. Have you been to an art gallery?

Nando.

No Nando I haven't, unless you consider "The Complete Works Of Vargas" as such.

Vargas is indisputably the best with that type of art, Lee. I think there are many fans here of Vargas' work.

Amen Dennis, I consider Mobius a younger, edgier Vargas.

BWUAHHAHAH.. laughed with tears :toothy10: That makes me to rember me as a Hi-Fi salesman years ago, too bad this never happened in my store, i wish it would :laughing9:

Sep,

I used to visit all the hifi shows/shops in London and in the south of England back in the early 1980s with my father and we would often encounter salesmen who would treat customers like idiots.

The flipside is that whenever you wrote or telephoned a company for more information about the specs of a particular product, they were more than helpful when responding to an enquiry.

Today, I find the specialist stores a *little* more helpful but sadly, quite a few manufacturers seem less inclined to respond to phone calls and emails.

You are right, manufacturers are not so oriented to the clients like they were before, they just sell their junks and that's all,,, the most sellers must stand almost everything trying to satisfy the clients,,, i used to visit my clients at home for additional help like instaling devices and advicing about how to proper use them, and it was rewarding to see satisfied people almost all the time :-P

That is the way to do it.

Go that extra mile and the customer will come back.

Infact they always did, i still meet people on street telling me ''Hi! You know, i still have the TV set you sold me 10 years ago and still works great'' and that makes my day for sure :tongue10:

That is good to know.

It is a shame that we live in a society where things are so disposable. I can't imagine too many people buying consumer electronics these days and keeping them for 10 years. Nearly everybody wants to upgrade their mobile phone/tablet/TV/PVR etc every five minutes.

Then again, seeing that most modern stuff is cheaply made in some distant land it probably wouldn't last 10 years anyway!
