... well it just crashed again, and i'm none the wiser.
time to walk away.....
Sometimes transitions from one version of OS to another can do permanent damage that can only be corrected with a clean re-load. Instead of fighting it anymore, just save your data on a separate drive, format the operating system drive and start afresh. Not much other advice I could offer here bud. I know it may take some time to get the data back in place but that's better than fighting it with repeated crashes.

Another thing, is it software or hardware related? Are your fans/heatsinks clean and power supply healthy? These can cause all this too.

I've totally lost the plot....
with all due respect D2, i really do know my way around computers. especially macs.
.... but when you have a dozen drives connected and you're running 4 different computers from laptops to desktops, and running three different proxy servers, with network collisions abounding, something's gotta give.
my problems are way past anything you can ever imagine, and the older i get, the more i forget, and then frustration sets in, and i may as well hold a gun to my head and shoot myself.

That's cool george, I understand its way beyond my knowledge. Wish I could help more.

I gotta get to work myself, I have a huge rack of vinyl and shelving to move from one side of the room to the other so I can have my speakers elevated slightly and at the same distance apart from each other. This channel imbalance due to the right speakers being further away from me than the left is driving me nuts. Another problem is I have so much stuff (stereo components and media) lying around that its going to be a huge shuffle. Anything for an improvement in sound and most of all "balance".

Dear Abbey says:

... wot you need is a digital delay 'inserted' somewhere, and delay the most closest speaker by a couple of milliseconds.
that will put it back in the same 'time dimension' as the other...

I sorted it out and got the speakers to where I wanted. Moving 700 vinyl then shelving wasn't fun but am happy with the result.

I was going to suggest that, but I knew how much of a lazy beer sucking slack-arse you were, and didn't wanna interrupt your drinking time! :laughing9::bounce::laughing9::bounce::laughing9:

You know - if Derek tilted his head correctly whilst drinking beer he could have eliminated the slight time delay between the ears.

that is so clever!!!! wot a perfect solution. i'm pissed that i didn't think of it!!!!! :confused2:
I just happened to be taking a swig off a beer while listening to ZZ Top and noticed that when I tilted my head in the wrong direction the music sounded out of sync. I tilted my head the other way while taking another hit off the beer and it sounded better. Amazing how science works. :study:

if you put it to a vote, i don't think anyone can see anything wrong with it.
.... and it's certainly not offensive or depicts violence, or discriminating and obviously not tested on animals, which is where i come in, as i am prepared to be THAT animal they could test her on.

I kind of liked her top - aka blouse. I didn't see any animals either but if you'd like I'll send her your way :tongue8:.

Probably won't be having any beers for a while. New medication is kicking my ass and making me a vegetable, getting nothing done after work, just sleeping which makes it worse. Can only hope to feel a bit better once I get through this =(

Derek - if your meds made you a fruit it wouldn't be "kicking" your arse  - so it's better that it's making you a veggie. Sorry - my fifth grade humor is out and about again. I hope you get through this soon.
