Hi y'all,

I'm having drastic problems with intermittent 'net connections, and have been unable to keep it up for longer than 5 minutes at a time.....
Been like that for a week, and I'm at a loss as to what's causing it, so I've been saving myself untold frustrations by just getting on with other stuff instead for a while.
Neither I nor my ISP are any wiser after all this time, so I'm just walking away from it for a while.
I do suspect my modem, so just waiting for a week, and I'll try a new one.

So, that's it from my little corner.....

(Better hurry up and send this before I have to reboot my modem again.)

Damn dude - if you can't keep it up for longer than five minutes you've got a real problem. :confused2: :laughing9:

I did some minor editing of your quote - just removed a few words and voilia - something to poke fun at.

" ...... .... ..... .... ..... " :laughing9:

There ya go.....
Edit THAT!
(I've already removed all the words.)

Nav, couldn't blame ya for taking advantage of opportunity, but when ya create opportunity for the express purpose of taking advantage.....hmmmmm............

Get some Viagra for that Modem (or a nice redhead).

internet problems solved:

i was curious, so i sneaked into the switchboard room here in the building and tracked down my phone line connection box, and low and behold, i found that the line coming into the building was too short to reach the terminal block, and someone had added extensions to the lines so they'd reach.
well after a closer look, it seems they use crimped connectors to do the job. so i cut it out, and SOLDERED a new piece of wire in it's place and SOLDERED that to the terminal block, and i have signal.
pure, uninterrupted, noise free, signal, and my internet connie is now just fine.

i don't think i'll bother telling 'em.......

No need confusing them with small details, would probably derail their whole day if ya did....

I know this might look bad without the full story but George and I communicated via PM - so I really wasn't taking advantage of a deeper issue. It was me just being a smart ass as normal.

I'm glad the five minute problem is resolved! That's too bad the techs didn't find that problem - just goes to show that experience counts. Good job George.

DUH!!!!!

I was just looking at this last page from a third party's POV, and no, none of it makes sense, but at least I think I know what's going on.
Yes, and you too D. .... but Lee, I think you should go and have a bit of a lie down. Heh heh heh.
:laughing9::laughing9:

... and I have to go to the shop again. Forgot the milk. Damn.

Here's an interesting bit of trivia for anyone living in Wyoming.....

The Wyoming Dept. of Corrections, can't get enough staff for their high security prisons, because all (preferred) eligible people go and work for the Oil Industry.

(... and yeh, I'm off to bed too. Big day and early start for me tomorrow.)

Why would you want to watch prisoners when you could go watch pumping units...
