You will be super productive now you had that quality sleep. Hope you get a good sleep again tonight, will do you wonders. Still recording here, a couple of LPs to go then I might listen to some pre-recorded tapes that I scored for 50 cents a piece.

in the last hour, i've managed to build a whole new bunch of furniture, repainted the whole apartment, vac'ed and mopped the floors, as well as cleaned out the k/litter box, fed the kids, and played two sides of a cassette to test out the newly fixed Nak, and all's well.

busy busy busy.

All the heat coming from the stylus playing these records today has generated enough energy to power the home for a month, now if I could just find a way of attaching the stylus to my power board :confused2:

What are you up to today George? I got all my recording done yesterday. Went to see some family and friends today to let them know I'm still alive. Just doing some flac compressing, running out of space after all these 24-bit 96khz wav files, many vinyl and tape transfer backups. Got a bit carried away with the beers last night and a whole clothes line of clothes got rained on over night, forgot to get them in, at least the clothes dryer will charge the room with some heat, cold and rainy today and for the rest of the week, which I don't mind at all, good audio and sleep weather. Rod Stewart blasting out the speakers at 10 o'clock on the dial :) Blondes have more fun!

yep, those hi-res wavs can suck up space somethin' shockin'....

it's rainin' here too, and I just have to go to the s/mkt before the specials on cat food finish at 9pm tonight. (.64c off per tin, which adds up to a lot when you buy 30 tins at a time, which is about 3 days worth. Then I'm broke 'till Thursday. :-( Bugger.....)

just finished hooking up my ol' valve amp, so i can get a bit of extra heat into the room for tonight, 'coz it's gettin' pretty cold in here these days, and idling SS amps aren't much chop when it comes to heating up a room.

so why do blondes have more fun? pro'ly got something to do with the fact that even a piece of blank paper with PTO written in the bottom corner can amuse them for hours.... :confused2:

Have you ever had any amps during a concert go dc on you or just plain blow up and smoke (speakers included)? I'd be interested to hear those stories and what you did to rectify the problem.

I think I can safely say, there's not much I haven't destroyed to the point of things bursting into flames, from taking out 3 phase boxes on the wall, to taking out transformers on a power pole and EVERYTHING else in-between.
SH*T happens, and you either run away, or deal with it, usually with a CO2 extinguisher in hand.
People often used to ask me why I always kept one next to the desk. I didn't have the time or inclination to explain. After the first time, you know how to deal with it the 2nd. :laughing9:

What the hell were you doing to achieve that?! 3 phase?! Power Pole transformers?! WTF! Driving the amps to epic proportions? Would have been a real shock to see the whole stadium go black :laughing9:

The power pole was caused by a stupid sparky that was called in to do a country job on an oval for a local footy team.
I hadn't noticed he was drunk at first.
He hooked up a box straight to transformer on a pole, BUT had reversed the neutral with the earth.
I didn't know 'till I hooked up power to lighting rig, and threw the switch. Double BANG. One from his box, and one from the transformer on the pole. Lucky there was no audio plugged in or it would've killed someone. None of the breakers failed. The whole thing went straight to earth via the lighting dimmer rack, and blew that to smithereens!

I've had 3 phase power blow on me in pubs, but that's no big deal as that's usually not on the same circuits as the rest of the pub. It looks good tho' when it flashes. Huge purple plasma ball leaping into the air....

Amps go DC all the time. I've had a few cause fires within speaker boxes. Ya gotta be quick to put them out, but crowds generally love that sort of thing. .... and of course, you always end up being the hero which generally guarantees a r**t for the night..... heh heh heh....
