I've totally lost the plot....
OK Lee, (come out wherever you are), you might know something about this....

If I pull the mono module back panel, and disconnect the connector, it looks very much like that I can just run each side of this 7B as separate channels. Is this correct?
That whole module looks like it's just a bridging device. Is that correct?
Also, according to the schematic, I don't need to do anything extra if I'm just happy enough to run this unbalanced. Is that correct too?

Whaddaya say ol' chum?

I'll have Joe look at it, I have ideas but am not 100% certain. That center module does look like a bridging/ bal/unbal variant.

Hi BD
Do you have the entire schematic you could email me? Have to look at the whole thing to answer your question.

... actually, the more i stare at that module's schematic, i can't see why i just can't add another xlr, and rewire it to stereo by just re-routing the second balancing IC.

It seems that there is a logic circuit (4081 AND gate) controlling the mute relay.

http://www.doctronics.co.uk/4081.htm
Well I've read that this amp does have an external mute function, (24v powered ?)
... but I don't see anything on this particular back panel to accommodate that.
I wonder if the Sonics version has been modified.
..... better have another look then. (BIG SIGH)
..... and I wanted to go to bed too!
Oh well, first things first. Back in a flash......

Nope, nothin' in there but an amplifier.....

The mono module is nothing like the real Bryston one.
All very bare bones with no switches or anything, and only one IC
Looks just like I said. I think I can connect straight in....
(it's those two single grey wires.)

Will have to take a careful look. I think this amp was set up in a bridged mode so we have to be careful to see if it is properly ground referenced for separate stereo operation.

if I could power up this sucker, i'd just wire up some signal to it and go for it, but, i don't have a stepdown transformer yet, so it'll just have to wait.
..... and it's gonna drive me crazy 'till i do!

Take your time Joe.
I won't have a s/d transformer (240v - 110v) 'till the end of next week, so there's definitely NO urgency for this.
I so appreciate your help tho'
