Larry's Phase Linear 700B

He misspelled his own name one day and it stuck. The Larrt just fits.

Great looking Ebay auction Lee, one of the more interesting reads on Ebay.

Remains to be seen how effective it is. As can be seen my e-bay seller skills are lacking, we'll see.

Welcome Larrt. No, I didn't list the Alps pots. I'll post a couple more pics of the inside and remedy that.

Course I've lived with it for 3 months. Then you have to consider sending that money to some crazy oilpatcher in Wyoming for god's sake, who knows what will happen to it after that!!

Having not looked at the ad recently, this may not apply, but I would list the cost of each part you put in the unit, and put a unit price of $500.00 or something....then show a total of all the upgrades aded to the unit cost...This will help a lot of people see what ALL the associated casts are...you can then list the number of hours you spent on the unit with an hourly rate....and show the unit IS a $1,500.00 piece of gear...The guy who rebuilds Altec Lansing VOT's does this, and it is very enlightening...

I thought I had saved the copy from his eBay ad, but can't find it...sorry...

I really thought that the serious buyers were just waiting until the last moments, which is always what one should do on eBay. I also thought that I'd have no chance at all because of the restrictions on my pocketbook. My research the last few days -- what one of these costs in functional condition, what you can get for one that's not even working, the cost of the upgrade components, the value of the labor, the love and pride and care that went into bringing it to this stage of its life -- caused me to conclude I'd have no chance to win the auction at a price I could afford, which admittedly is not a heck of a lot more than the listing and lower than I believe it is worth. What fate awaits this amplifier?

Do you want it? 750.00 plus shipping and it is yours.

I bid... 750.01 plus shipping!!!

Nah just kidding... peachdog I would jump right on this, as I too have had the pleasure of hearing these "beasts" firsthand... and not even CLOSE to the same "revision level" as Larry's here...

And peachdog, as a member of Phoenix, it's guaranteed for a s long as I live. They are that good when we get done with em, can't get anybody to believe that who hasn't followed us along here on Phoenix for a bit. These are relatively unknown sleeper conversions that will simply blow you away. The power claims I can back up anytime , anywhere. I own one of the finest Audio analyzers ever made. I feel very lucky to have located one for only 4,000.00 A little pricey for your average DIY'er, but I have some oilwells to support my habit. Since posting results obtained with the ATDS-1DD, no body calling BS on em. Damnit. A little spirited debate is a good thing once in awhile.

Well Sutton, looks like I've overpriced my work. But I won't be doin em for less.

I'm sure I scared the serious buyers away. Too honest, to blunt and too in your face. Couldn't have been telling the truth anyway, a YEAR GUARANTEE??? That Dude had to be scammin, ain't gonna be around to honor the 'tee anyway, wadda ya wanna bet??
I can hear em all now.

The AD said free shipping, still is. And NO LARRT, it's not coming out of your share. And I didn't mean that like it sounded. My gift to you friend. I didn't finish the SP-12 and feel I let ya down there. And I'd just feel better honoring the ad, and that's not giving you a chance to even it out, but ya know Larrt, between me and you, we don't have to.
