phase linear 400

It is interesting that everyone had guns back then, yet shootings were few and far between. Seems so anyway. Hey teach! Check out my new bird gun! got a couple pheasants before school this morning... NOT TODAY!!!

(not counting the overabundance of wars of course)

All the guys in high school had shotguns and rifles on racks in the back window of their trucks in the parking lot back in high school. Nobody said a word. Of course officially there were not supposed to be any guns at the school. Hell, I don't know if they ever even locked their doors. It was a different day. Now in Alabama, the loosest gun control state in the USA you don't even need a permit to carry concealed. It's come all the way back around because of all the "mass shootings".

Hell, the "Good Ole Boys" down here Alabama were going Coon Hunting after school and may have been just getting back from the woods before school around here so yep. They had em. Me, I was too busy chasing girls and swapping stereo equipment in my lil hot rod Nova to mess with all that.

We are missing quite a few regulars Gene.

Hope they come back to posting soon...
I noticed this also.
I wasn't around for a while due to being in a very dark place, its good to be able to do basics again, and most importantly, do the audio thing.

"Very dark place" A place that I am all to familiar with.
Buprioion-Wellbutrin x2 daily
Lithium Carbonate x2 daily
Lamotrigine-Lamictal x2 daily
Quitipine-Seroquel As needed and every night.
Topiramate. (Off label use) x1 daily
Life can be a mother fucker. This is a good place.

Jesus Christ James!!! What does all that mean??

Means I understand totally dark spots. Long ones. Take a shitload of medication to try and keep me straight. Don't mind taking about depression and mental illness with others if they want or feel the need to discuss it with someone. PM if wanted or talk on the phone. Life ain't always kind but it can be pretty damn good too! It means I am glad that I feel comfortable saying that here if I can be there for someone who might need to talk one day.

That is a toxic cocktail.
Currently in the fight for the life I never had due to being on meds since age 9. Wrong wrong wrong. Its a tough situation, and I didnt have the power to say no or make decisions at that age. Then by the time I was old enough, I was too messed up to get off them. 36 years later, its my 7th attempt and it will take 2-3 years. I cant work due to that and other medical conditions.
As I take less and less meds, I realise how wrong I was in so many situations due to being drugged up and missing the opportunity to properly deal with and process bad shit that happened throughout life. I would flip out and deal with it the wrong way, which created further problems.
At age 47, I dont mind being wrong, and now all those demons I am facing through EMDR treatment by a registered psychologist. It is brutal and confronting, but all that stuff that happened needs to be revisited and processed properly so I can move on.
The med taper continues, and it sucks, but I can’t go on like this medicated. It does horrible shit to your mind and body. The side effects are ridiculous.
The drugs are designed to make you a life customer, and if you talk to a medical professional about coming off them, they will encourage you to do it fast to almost guarantee failure so that you end up back on the meds and possibly have another med added which is what happened in my case 12 years ago.
Big pharma and the docs dont really care for your health, they are trained to do what they are told.
The more medicated you are, the easier you are to control, many get stuck on the hamster wheel. Due to side effects and problems caused by the medication, they just end up on more meds. When in actual fact, the psych meds are causing 90% of the problems.
Psych meds are ok for a short period of time if the person is not coping and needs an out. But remember, all that shit that is not dealt with and gets suppressed, will have to be revisited and dealt with correctly in the future.
I know this all too well, and there is a lot of ‘stuff’ to get through.

Far be it from me to offer docters advice off the forum let alone on the forum. After all it is a stereo forum, not a health care forum and I would like to respect that. All I am saying is this. If someone is suffering and wants or needs someone here, on the forum to talk to for a while I have been there (very dark place) many times and won't mind lending an ear. The people on this forum are good people that have been very helpful and friendly to me. This is a good place. I don't mind being helpful if possible. That's all.

Not offering doctors advice in any shape or form. Just sharing my experience as it could help others in similar situations. Each to their own.

Phoenix is the only form of online networking that I do. No social media of any sort.

Other than that its a quick look at the news with a heavy bullshit filter enabled which eliminates 95% of the stories.

Thanks for the offer of being there if someone needs an ear.

Absolutely agree with the above. Same exact thing here. No social media accounts of any kind. No use for any of that. Doesn't keep me from sniffing around on M.P./C.L. for good deals on stereo equipment though, lol. :p

Yeah same here. I was a massive hoarder once due to the recycle market, back then old pcs and audio gear for $5 a piece. Filled a large room with it all. Have maybe a quarter of that now.
Just cant help but look at those 2nd hand sites.

Target shooting with .22s in the schools was not unheard of (before my time in high school). They were banned already in the 80's here in CT.

Where I got my start target shooting. While Baylor was a private school (with a military program), several local high schools with ROTC programs all had 50 ft. indoor ranges for .22 target shooting. Plus UTC, where I shot as a high-school junior and senior and traveled with them to colleges all over the southeast for three-position rifle matches.
