If you really hate yourself get an idler drive motor unit (rek o kut, Russco but forget Garrard) and a separate tonearm. Or a Technics SP-10/15/25 and separate tonearm. You'll have to come up with a plinth. If you get a Rek avoid the General Industries death cube motor, you'll never get rid of the rumble.

Or Technics SL-1200

my time frame has been unvoluntarily altered...think i would be interested in a moderately priced operating unit in good condition!!!
saw a bunch on ebay...but i know nothing of turntables...gave mine away in 80...aling with my lp collection!!!
