This bus replaces 2-12AWG cross connection copper wires to form the original bus bar concept. This bus bar equals 6.5 of those wires instead of just 2. That 6.5 factor is after taking into account the slight conductivity drop from using aluminum instead of copper. Copper is very expensive these days, is very difficult to laser and adds no functional value.

If you really want to experience what excessive headroom is like at high volume levels, a pair of White Oak Model One's in Mono config is an awesome way to go!!

The Model One takes the Phase Linear sound to a higher level with bass impact and details like no other I've experienced at this price point.

Sorry for the crappy picture, but this is what I've been sitting in front of for the past several hours...

The sound is so clean and detailed, you can't help but turn the volume up and feel the music!

My Benchmark AHB2's do not play this loud, they are very clean and detailed but not like this.

Hi Eric,
Wow, that is a pretty sexy picture !!!
Congratulations on S/N 5 and 6.
An endorsement like that coming from you says everything.
The amps are beautiful, I can imagine what they sound like with your 801's.
Thank you for posting. Lee is going to enjoy these !

New upgraded bus bar installed in both amps.

This update replaces multiple 12AWG jumper wires and eliminates the need to stack multiple ring terminals on a single termination.

Not only is it an improvement from an electrical perspective, it also provides mechanical support tying the top of each capacitor bank together.

Wires replaced from both amps by new bus bar design:

So the Benchmarks aren't the benchmark anymore?
I would not go that far… it’s very subjective and comes down to personal preference and how you listen to music the majority of time.

For example, although I enjoy both head banging rattle the windows loud AND lower still able to carry on a conversation levels, I prefer the latter for most of my listening duration.

For that, I still prefer the Benchmark amps. For the quietest background, low level detail and accuracy, it’s very difficult and expensive to beat the Benchmark amps.

For anything above wife approved listening levels, I much prefer the Model ONE amps.

The monstrous damping factor combined with incredibly solid and stable power supply provides very tight control of speaker drivers during high excursions.

The Model ONE plays very loud and very clean. The Benchmark appears limited when you want that “crank to 11” sound impact.

How do the Model One compare to a full WOPL 700B?
I can see this question coming up quite often. As noted above, how it compares can vary based on your preferences and listening environment.

See below for a list of Model ONE features when comparing to a full WOPL 700:

- Significantly improved power supply (1.5KVA Toroid transformer, and 60,000uF bulk capacitance)
- Shielded transformer
- Soft start feature on power up
- Evenly lit LED VU meters
- Meter sensitivity selection (Normal, -6dB, -20dB)
- Much improved internal layout isolating AC wiring and noise
- New speaker DC protection circuits
- Both Balanced XLR and single ended RCA inputs
- Improved heavy duty speaker binding post outputs
- Improved noise floor specs -115dB
- ¼” thick Aluminum front panel
- Front, LED heavy duty push button on-off switch
