[Vintage 700b]

Cleaned up all the thermal paste.

Drilled and chamfered each side of all heat sink mounting holes.

All 4 heat sinks now match holes in the chassis for mounting TO-3 outputs.

I could hear the sigh of relief when you had these finished !

Housing assembly has commenced.

Triac power switch mounted between backplane boards. Fortunately the tab of the Triac is isolated to allow using the housing as a heat sink.

Heat sinks mounted and backplane board placed.

Now the real fun begins... It starts looking like an amp again.

Yes, the Triac board is new and Don has yet to list on his website.

The Triac is used as the main AC power switch feeding the transformer. The front panel power switch on the 700B now just switches low current for Traic gate drive and should last the lifetime of the amp.

That or using a panel switch with 2 contacts In parallel seems popular.
