This project is about 1 day's worth of work to completion. After sanding the inside of the cab, I put 3 coats of Sherwin Williams Lazy Gray. It's pretty light so you can see what yer doing if you been hiding money from the wife inside of it. It looks very nice. I put the doors on it to see if I was going to be happy with the inside of the doors in clear. I think I'll whip a coat of the SW Lazy gray on the 2 doors on the inside. The smaller door looks like it is a Birdseye maple veneer (plywood) in good light you can see the figuring but it don't match anything. The outside of both doors match the rest of the cab. I was anxious to see if my plan of satin clear on the outside was going to work so I hit the one side with RustOleum clear satin and it woke up the Red Gum BIG TIME. So all I have left for the cab is lazy gray the inside of the doors, sand the other 3 sides with 320, satin clear it. Black enamel for the base, put on the weather-stripping for between the TT and base and install the screen and spline for the back access panel. It originally had felt between the TT and base but I found some 5/16" rubber for it, and I'll try it and see if it has any rumble. I figure if the soft rubber motor mounts decouple, then it should work for the TT to Cab isolation. It will be nice to sign off this project, the Crown project just in time for spring cleaning.

Lot of work, but it really looks nice, great jpb!
Well, I listened to the turntable for a few hours and am pleased with the setup. I heated up the garage and put the last 4 coats of satin clear and after it was dry to the touch, I got out the little buffer and buffed the dust off of it and outside of a little touch up and painting the bottom, it's time to start some assembly. This was a fun project for sure. Here is a few shots of it cleared and buffed. It's kind of a hodge-podge of wood species but it was made to be painted gray but it will definitely be a conversation piece along with a fine sounding piece of gear. I finally saw another B-16H on another website and somebody had painted it black with a roller and there is no cabinet with it. He has his work cut out for him. I had to ask him what it was because it looked nothing like mine. A powder coat/paint job would have drove the price up big time. I hope I can make a few bucks off it as I'm gathering funds for a 1980's C-10. I doubt it will be lime green like my last one. Damn prices have gone WAY up, I should have towed it up here...... anywhoooo
