Good morning Joe,

Out of curiosity, if you decide to have the new faceplates (thick or standard) made when do you think they would be available and what would the ballpark price point be? Looking at a full comp WOA rebuild on a "Val" PL400 and working on a budget.

Harold.

Hello Harold
I have not worked that up yet. Faceplates without meters have gone for ~$100 to date for the PL400/700S2 and the PL700B

Survey says (thanks for all the input):

And with attenuators:

Hopefully something for everybody (even has lime green for Perry's knobs). Pilot holes are back drilled on the back of the plate in the locations shown for installing pots if desired. User will have to complete drilling them out from the backside if desired. Embodies illuminated power switch, meter range switch. If pots are added, the design is for a 32mm (1.25") diameter knob.

Looks nice- It would be interesting to make one 700B style as an option...

Could the WO circuit be tweaked to accommodate a readily available transformer?

Torroids can be wound to taste but I would maybe try for an R-core if going custom.

Opening up a poll to see what your preferences are on a thicker PL400 faceplate (3/16" instead of 1/8") with new meters.

Meters are slightly larger than originals, backlit with slight parchment color meter scale.

It would be nice to add Level Potentiometers on each side of the attenuation toggle, with a very low cutoff DC-Block....just in case preamp is DC hot. I'm doing this stuff to mine.

Looks great!
Timeline for availability? I'm trying not to rework my original faceplate!

I assume the the attenuaters are just wired inline with the RCA inputs? 100k?
Yes and whatever value you decide to purchase and install...
