We have a lot of work ahead before we are satisfied with that. All guitar tracks will be replaced to remove that “McCullough chain saw” tone, is at the top of the list...
The band name (was) “Xion” and the EP title is “Gale Force Warning”. Another band is using that Xion name now (and they were polite enough to ask). In the unlikely event we are called out to play, I think we are using “Liquid Nickel” as a band name these days. We get together very infrequently now.

Sorry for the confusion, Jim; I was looking at your handwritten track list and thought Xion might have been a regional label when I went back and looked at the pic of the CD. I'll be curious to hear the new mix as what I heard was entirely appropriate for a band of that era. Part of what made me ask "why didn't they go big?" Careful you don't lose that - I get the feeling you guys packed your fair share of bars. I like Liquid Nickel as a name, btw.
As an aside, I remember a quote from George Harrison, something to the effect that he wished he hadn't been under Phil Spector's influence (spell?) back in the day. Too bad he never got around to remixing All Things Must Pass the way he originally envisioned it; the version in George's head would have been very interesting.
Young Neil & The Vipers were good as well, though they seemed a little derivative. You guys were not - in any way, shape, or form. I know life happens, but you should get together more.

Have been a/b ing the speaks in below config. Just finished a set P.B.-Companion and currently running Moody Blues At Red Rock....whew, this is gonna get winded, here’s my take....
808’s. Bright, very detailed with sufficient bass. Great attack. Not muffled. Very bright at concert levels....not necessary my hearing is still good enough!
DM 6’s- The Pregnant Penguins....Weak in the high end but kicking mid range. Somewhat muffled heavy bass, tolerable with a big presence. Definitely not as detailed as the 808’s. Good for change up.
Now for the good part....Running both!!! Wow! They just complement each other. The Penguins take a bit of the edge off the slabs. Definite bass boost with the crisp bass from the slabs taming the muffle. Detail is retained. Wiiiide soundstage with good height. Very enjoyable....High Life mode!!

Doin' the exact opposite of the Fish-man. Blasting some digitally-copied mix tapes from the A&K into the Beyer cans. Got the Doors cranking at the moment; to be followed by some Moody Blues and one of the California mixes.
