Funny thing, after I did the drag and drop of a Tone-Loc flac file as it was converting it flashed mp3 as the file format it was converting from. Did Nero see compression in the file history prior to the flac formation?

Could have been a program glitch; could have been a historical bit. Hard to say.
Your ears should tell you the truth when you run that disc through your home system.
In the Ranger, background noise is going to mask things greatly...

In any event, just curious - did you use Nero Start to get going and then do the Quick Start/drag&drop ?

I don't know. I opened the program, then went to audio Cd, then opened the Darcy drive, then did the drag and drop.
