8....they were very complimentary of the Phase Linear brand. Didn't know shit though.
They usually stay away from all electronics on the Pickers, unless it is a pinball machine and sometimes they go for them.

It's the first amp I've seen them buy. They have bought Dual TT's, jukes, radios in the past.

The Phase Linear 400 first appears at about 42 minutes 30 seconds into the show and lasts about a minute and a half.
Pickers Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz paid $275 for the amplifier and estimated that it would be worth $550 if it was gone through top to bottom.
(NOTE: I think that estimate is a bit on the high side, if you consider what a 400 series 1 amplifier sells for on ebay.)
The serial number of the amplifier is 7812. It is a 8-fin amplifier made sometime after November 1974.
A few of their comments:

"The founders of Phase Linear were pioneers. If audiophiles had a Mt. Rushmore, the Phase Linear guys faces would be right up there."
