Like my BlueTooth ?
Heading to Suwanee Ga. In just a few to pick up a nice PL 700. Pictures to come. I am excited as hell I ain't gonna lie. I have been looking for one for a very long time that was affordable. $380.00 working in great shape.

Congratulations. That is a good price. They don't seem to come cheap anymore. I've watched non working go for way too much money, but that's the way it seems to be.

Here we go.

You need to drive back over there and give the guy some more money. One just sold on Ebay for $545.00 yesterday.I put money in my ppal acct. to buy it & thought about it too long. I've seen them go for $1,200.00 just in my short time here. I bought a swell 700b from Lee, but now I wan't at least one of each model amp.
What a great start on your new listening room your going to add on soon. 700 watts needs some room & worthy speakers too!

I always liked the look of the original 700, congrats brother :headbang:

God thanks Northwinds. I had started to feel like I had made a mistake in buying the PL 700 instead of a 700b because I see now that these meters will not fit a new face plate..

Bradock, there you go reading my mind again. Yes, I do need a bigger listening room. The one I have is so small its not even funny. So guys, where do I go from here. I checked and set DC offset only the left channel needed much adjusting. I have not checked bias or hooked any test speakers up. I have not checked bias because I cannot read the schematic I have for the PL 700. I have tried a few copy's I downloaded from a few sites but cannot hardly read either one and therefore I am not 100% sure what two resistors are R 47 and R 48. Nothing has been touched on this unit as far as I can see from day one. All the OPT are factory 909's. Here are a few images from today after I went in and poked around. It looks like I screwed myself by not finding a B unit as well. These meters are completely different than the B and therefore will never fit in a new face plate...

Found the correct resistors to read across but the adjustments have been glued I would guess from the factory. What to do here ? Go ahead and get the glue loose anyway right ? One (left side) is sitting around .450 the other around .115

There are 2 variable resistors for each channel. Read the manual to get a clear idea how todoit...

Thats for the offset, bias is another one...be sure to get a manual for the PL0171 pcb.....I'm not home or us would post the procedure andsdchematic .....Perhaps someone else could,??

Broke the glue loose and I am adjusting R 36 (VR-POT) for Bias. I cannot get the bias on the left chan above .131
The right channel will adjust. I have it at .350

Looks like you made a great find. Good luck with the new toy.

Yes. Turned the pot all the way left and adjusted R 17 . Then turned the pot all the way right and adjusted R 7 on both channels. Both are very close to 0 Mv on a 200 mV scale.

Ok, justcheckin bud....the bias trannt is on theboard. On the channel that won't adjust, hold the bias trannywith your fingers and see if it changes as you warm it up..
