The early 4 fins had the bias transistor in a different place. Measure center to center off the backplane holes then transfer that measurement to the chassis and drill a hole....

Okay, perfect. As I suspected, drilling new holes will be the key. Now I can get on it and finish up. Thanks Dennis

Yeah, I saw the coordinates. But to be precise, I put the boards in the chassis with just a couple socket screws, then used a transfer punch through the board hole to get it exact. Job accomplished. Thanks for the continued assistance.

Okay, here it is, so far. On the boards, I certainly realize I generated redundant jumpers. Stupid mistake. The rectifier obviously isn't soldered, and the two empty posts are, of course, for the transformer leads, the two white leads go to the capacitors. Does all this look okay?

As in suggestions about moving forward. My plan is to install the boards today, connect the respective leads to the fuse holders, and then install the capacitors. I just want to make sure I'm not forgetting anything that would require me to take things apart and redo work. It seems pretty straight forward, but those are often famous last words. I'm on Joe's crowded list for a control board and still working with Don to get a relay kit.

You have the correct procedure, backplanes, get them and the fuse holders, caps and BR wired , then the control board....

Is there any wiring I should do now for the relay board? I don't have the relay yet, but maybe you guys could help me get everything ready, so that the wire routing is nice and clean.

I'd run a combo AC and Ground wire over from the star ground and bridge rectifier. Up "top" since we want to keep all the AC up north and DC down south.

Use or make it as a twisted pair to keep the radiation down.

Do you mean AC from the rectifier and ground from the star ground, as a pair up top towards where the relay will mount?

So this is all I got done today. Too many interruptions and distractions.

If this all looks good to you guys, tomorrow I'll wire up the other fuses and then install and wire the capacitors.

It's like everything else, now that I've gone this far once, if I had to do it again, it would a snap and extremely clean and precise. Learning is often expensive and painful. But this is fun, nonetheless.

The only photos or mentions of the Watts Abundant relay are related to a stock driver board and transistor network. Where does the red wire connect with DC power with the backplane setup? Do I need to, or would it be easier to run a wire now?

I use the unused B+ hole in the upper right channel backplane to tap that voltage for the DCP. Besides the speaker outs that's all that should be tied to the backplanes....for the DCP...

Great, I'll get back at it tomorrow. Thanks. What does DCP stand for? . . . circuit protection?

Finally got some more work done. Unless someone sees a mistake, I think I'm ready to wire the capacitors and begin the process of installing the transistors. I ran the two wires, as a twisted pair, for the relay, white ground from the buss bar, and black from the + post of the rectifier. The work ain't very pretty, but the next one will be a breeze.
