The measurements you got are spot on Ray. The cheat sheet you referred to is for an earlier revD board wired quasi comp.

I will delete it from the docs I send. The plus and minus 78V readings are the nominal for the transformer, vary with line input.

This note applies Ray. You were fully hooked up as far as I know from your post.

Thank you Joe if you were here I would hug you :hello1:.... looks like I have a wopl 400 lol... the green wire you had me put on the upper right right channel control board I think it is B+ out (don't have in front of me right now) for Don's protection board.... that will go to J3-1 DC input right?

I will have to check that Ray, I am not all that familiar with the DC Protect board. Will have to refresh myself on it.

I checked Don's documentation and yes that connection goes to J3-1 on the PL400 DCP board.

very good so I can get that power from the B+ from the backplane to feed the DC voltage for the protection board right?

Edit ok I see Joe posted the answer to this while I was posting this and that is in fact what the green wire he had me install is for.....

Yep, one of the few things we can take off Joe's board to do extra things with. Do not jumper the grounds....

Speaking of ground.... the ground that goes to Don's board J3-2... I have seen notes that this ground can be run either from the buss bar or star ground... is this an either or deal don't matter?

Hi Ray
The copper bus bar between the bulk caps is either called the star ground or bus bar. Interchangeable terminology in this context.

ah ok what I am referring to as star ground is the stand off from the heat sink on the left backplane the wire goes from the buss bar to the the stand off.... I thought I had read that nothing other than the 1 wire from the buss bar should ever be connected to this stand off ground I call the star ground but not sure if there is a preferance for the ground to don's board

OR......if you cut a custom bus bar out of 1/8 X 3/4 copper its then known as a BABB.....Big Ass Bus Bar......

The copper bus bar is the preference Ray.

The goal is to have the chassis have no possible current flow in it, it is just a static shield that is grounded. That makes for the lowest possible noise floor.

That is the way it will go then that pretty much wraps it up... light board wires are ready to go just need don's board to complete it... anyone hear when he will be back to ship orders out?

5 is supposed to have voltage??? I have 0 what is it supposed to be? I have very small voltage on left and right channels at #1 and #6 anything I can do to clean those up??? Also on DC offset shouldn't that also be 0 both channels, can I do anything to clean that up as well??

BTW I am fully hooked up except don's board and the light board

Hi Ray
pin 5 is ground so you should have close to zero which you do.

you should also see zero or very close to it on 1,2 and 6 which is what you indicated in your readings
