PL 400 Question?

I'm at work, no access to my notes..there are installation instructions on White Oaks website....where does the wire originate from?

It was cut away... not sure. While I'm at it, I should double check, from the bridge rectifier positive goes to positive terminal on the supply cap and to fuse tip for B+ and same thing for negative side?

There is fused and unfused rail wiring, check the installation notes if you are unsure. The wiring instructions for the backplanes cover that....for the black wire, it was cut off where?? Where it came off the stock board?

Got it all done!!! Sounds awesome... one thing though, when I adjusted the bias on the left channel all I could get to was .301VDC?

I have about everything wired up. Question I have the LED light board from White Oak. Where do I connect the black wire from Pad 3?

From the instructions

  1. Wiring from amplifier to Light Board RevB is as follows:
    1. PAD1 = RED, right channel output
    2. PAD2 = WHITE, left channel output
    3. PAD3 = BLACK, amplifier star point ground
    4. PAD4 = GRAY, AC1 from the main transformer (sometimes these leads are green or some other color)
    5. PAD5 = GRAY, AC2 from the main transformer (sometimes these leads are green or some other color)
    6. The last 2 AC wires are interchangeable, no polarity involved.

I believe it was about .14VDC or there about....

Figured out the wire from pad 3 of the meter assembly was ground.

I'll check it tomorrow...... play it for a while and check. However the readings were taken after being on for 10-15 min. Now it's past time for bed, I might have been a little obsessive on this build. :coffee::smokin: Now its time for a brownie!
G'nite...... morning?

I never bought cookies from something like that.....

Got the bias sorted out. :withstupid: This is the first time I have done any soldering on double-sided boards...... got out a magnifying glass and I found a few places I didn't get good solder flow to the silk screen side.. corrected and then checked bias and left side was up to .41 vdc.. Now both sides set to .35 vdc. Also when I got the chance to crank it, it sounded bad on deep bass passages... now it is sounding better! Getting old is for the birds.....! Poor vision, not as steady hands.... and forgetful!

More Brownie Pics!!!
