Thanks, Lee. Here is a picture of it when I first saw it in January of 2013 and struck the deal with Gordon at IA to buy it. Remarkably, two SX-1980s came into the shop within a short time of each other. And the JBL speakers, from the same owner, who lived in the cabin in the woods, who originally owned the receiver before me.

An SX-D7000, rode hard and put away wet, weighs about 47 pounds, or about the same as a QX-8000.

But they have that blue pill thing...and they say it's DANGEROUS after four hours, then you have to ask what you were thinking anyway.

very cool story and I am glad you still have it to enjoy. I have a friend that is an avid Pioneer collector and I believe he has 4 1980's, matter of fact one of them is on EBay now. I remember him saying after Glenn had restored one of them it put out 313 watts per channel, not too shabby. Your photos are incredible, just out of curiosity what camera(s) are you currently using. You have some really nice Pioneer TOTL equipment, they really made nice equipment IMO.

The Spec 2's do around 330 at 8 ohms. The 1980 should do at least that. They were advertised at 270, the Spec at 250.

Trevor: Thanks. My camera is a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX1. It's the first digital camera I bought six years ago. I was aware that Pioneer conservatively rated their power ratings for their older products. Since owning the SX-1980 for the past 2.5 years, I haven't put many hours on it. It will probably outlast me.

Looking good Nando, just checked in on my phone and it is skipping like crazy. I will get on the better computer network and watch your video. I am not a huge fan of LED's but the ones you have are not as bright and obnoxious as the others I have seen. I bought a used LUMIX camera about 6 months ago and I am going through the manual and reading quite a bit. There is a lot to learn, but way cooler is getting to spend time with both my son and daughter, the daughter especially. Likely my wife and I will be getting schooled by the kids. Looking forward to watching your video without all the skips. We live in a pretty remote area and trees are still attempting to grow, we just have satellite internet, it's not horrible, better than living in town next to some yuppy
