Hello all. I spend a lot of time reading on this wonderful site but do not post much. I have a very nice Pioneer SX1980 that I would like to sell or do some trading for a full comp PL700B and...? The 1980 I have is in really nice condition. It has not been restored or updated. I bought it from a guy that used it as his daily driver. It was filthy when I got it and the bass trim pot was broken. I replaced the bass pot and am in the process of re lamping the beast. It also has a new cover from AK'er Sawdust that is made of pure walnut and is absolutely stunning. It is still in its natural state and could be stained but I dig the natural look. I am not sure how to post pictures here but if anyone has any interest please let me know. If selling outright I would be asking $3600.00. If I'm out of my mind don't be afraid to tell me, I've heard much worse ( I am married lol ). Anywho please let me know if you might have interest either way. I would really prefer to do some trading. I also have a Pioneer 1010 for sale on AK should anyone be interested. Thanks for looking and I look forward to meeting some more people from this site. Love the forum!!

Trevor, open a Photobucket or Imgur account (they are free). Upload your images and then post the (Direct) URL images in your post

I for one would love to see your pictures

Alternately you can use IMG tags (the 'tree picture' icon in the trio below the A for text color) to insert your images from the computer or images from the internet.

Images from your computer will be thumbnailed inline and expanded to full size when click on, presented as a series if you have more than one in the body.

Otherwise, you can scroll down and click Manage Attachments to attach them below the post.

You can only post certain file types, but can also attach PDF files, given size or resolution limits of the vBulletin software. You do NOT have a maximum upload limit of this site and will not be cut off if you pass a limit, only for the size of the files you may post.

vB will gripe at you appropriately about it, but if you don't understand or think it needed coffee before getting up, feel free to ask about it.

And do let us know if the 1980 is listed anywhere else...it's easier for some who are also on there to look at it or it's a little fair-game teasing to get on with it :)

We're an honest motley crew here.

Thank you, it is not listed anywhere else. I hope to have it all back together no later than this Tuesday and I will get some pictures posted. Thanks for
the tips on posting!

BBBAR---Big Beautiful Bad Ass Receiver!!!
Thanks Lee! I will get better photos. The cell phone pictures do not do it justice. I will get the "real camera" out and take some quality photos, now that the dumb dumb baby figured out how to post pictures. Really not that hard, would have been less hard if I had less substance in my system:laughing5:

Doing some substance tonight myself....good Colorado Medical.....
That medical is good, especially if you need to sleep. Really good after a hard day or if the body is hurting. Just like medicine different strains for different occasions. You and I would get along great lol!

1980

I just wanted to let people know that I adjusted the price on the 1980 to $3600.00, the reason for this is I would like to donate a portion of the funds to a gentlemen who is having a rough time. I will gladly entertain reasonable offers. Please don't offer $2500.00 as I would rather run over it with my suburban than lose money. Thanks for looking!

You would rather run it over with your truck than take $2500? That's fucking brilliant.......

For 3600.00 I would think that it has had the markthefixer or Echowars deluxe model II restoration. If it's completely stock, that's gonna be a hard price to get....

I agree and the price is extremely negotiable, unfortunately most people try to beat you down on audio gear so I always start high. Like Dad used to say " you can always come down, but you can't ever go up ". What's crazy is some of the highest sales on flea bay have been bone stock units. We all fully realize they will have to be updated for reliability. It may be best to send this one off to the bay to see what it can fetch. If it brings more money on the bay it will be more money that can be donated to John.

On eBay you will probably get shafted by a buyer Bro, parts swapped etc... not to mention several hundred dollars in fees lost

EDIT: My comment is more directed as this is a rare and sought after receiver therefore a potential target for unscrupulous buyers who know eBay always protects the buyer and near impossilbe to prove switched parts/whole units

Ron,
That is one thing I feared as I have never sold on EBay before. A friend on mine had mentioned when selling on EBay that he fills the screw holes with wax and install break away tape. However I don't know if that would do any good as it seems the buyer is always protected. I got an email the other day from PayPal that said they now have some program that you don't pay until you are satisfied. Have not read through the email yet. That would suck if someone snagged the outputs and then sent it back as inoperative. If I end up selling on EBay I will make sure to post a video of all functions work at time of sale and then document the packing
process as well. Thanks for the information and thoughts gentlemen

Some buyers will stay away from sellers with Zero feedback. They don't have a reputation to uphold. I don't shy away from them and have gotten some of my best deals by buying from sellers with zero feedback because of the lack of bidders.

Document a small dab of brightly colored nail polish on certain parts will alleviate some of the issues with dishonest people. You can't really protect yourself from them completely. You could still be out the unit itself and/or freight, plus the working parts. That being said, 99% of my eBay dealings have been without incident.

Local pickup only - limits the buying audience as well.

Flood the audio forms with your item for sale. Are there any consignment shops that you could use?
