I still have not heard it Ben, I will have to look online for clips. I was just listening to his Surfing With the Alien lp
 
Im sure you can find the whole thing on the utoob if need be. Its well worth it Ron. Not a single word, but beautifully spoken with every word on his axe. As I have said before, possibly his best work. Of course that's my own opinion.

These usually are the earliest pressings and they sound best - I think it's for the same reasons that an original pressing will usually sound better than a later reissue. In a lot of cases promos were among the first records pressed because the labels wanted to get them out to the radio stations / stores asap for promotion. So they can be better sounding because of they benefit from coming off a brand-new stamper.

But it's not a 100% case - record labels and production plants also issued promo copies from later runs. And in my experience, any given record can sound better than any other given record on a particular turntable/cartridge. Sometimes the matrix # in a record's deadwax can provide a clue. enjoy the spins! fun hobby!

JOE SATRIANI - "SHOCKWAVE SUPERNOVA"? If so this is one of his best IMO. Of course I do love the Surfing With the Alien album too. Great stuff.
