Squamish Classics Car Club Get-Together

Hi all,

A little less than two weeks ago our car club had a small contingent attend a cruise. It's a cruise that we like to do at least once a year. At this get-together, we met with our cars at the local casino at about 7:00 p.m. with the plan to cruise from there to our favourite fish & chip joint in Britannia Beach, about seven miles south of the casino. Here are some of the cars in attendance:

Our machinery mill old iron is plentiful in NE and generally well preserved but not the kind that runs down the roadway

When I visit the son in Seattle it is like a time warp, seeing vehicles on the road that vanished from the NE landscape long ago.

Is the pedestrian overpass new? I don't recall it the last time I was in Squamish.

Doug: About 6 years old on the overpass. You're supposed to slow to 60 km per hour in that area. Is that why you've been missing it?

Joe: Too bad on missing out on old cars that have survived. I know that your state has offered a lot of donor parts to the rest of us in need of those hard-to-get mechanical parts - body parts and trim, not so much.

Nando all our classics are imported from somewhere else. You are probably right, the running gear is probably younger than you have out there but the body left that machinery long ago

The Ford convertible is a sheer beauty!

The blue Chevy Malibu 4-door was a Tempest in Pontiac trim, I believe, I had a 1966. Those are actually my favorites of the bunch. Of course I love Mopar but the SUBTLE ones are the kind that get more looks sometimes.

Took the wife to a local scoop last Saturday. She feel in love with a beautiful '37 Ford....there is hope for me yet. Always told her my last Ford would be a Shelby or a roadster...a few years away but there is hope!!

It's the real deal. Dave B. has owned it for a number of years. This 383 Super Bee has a long history in the same town where I live. Sure, it gets babied now, but it had a brutal past like most muscle cars did in the 70's up to the 80's.

Steven: Ken K.'s old Ford is not a convertible, but the roof is painted white, so it appears like it's a soft-top.

John, Bob: Yes, it's always nice to get together as a group for a night of car bs.

Dave: A Ford Shelby or roadster would be a very nice choice. Hope you eventually get one.

John: Yup, you guessed right as I brought out my 1986 Buick Grand National.
