What's all this talk of old computers? Transfer your data to the new computers and send the old ones to Steven. :la:

Microsoft Office.

Microsoft Works is a discontinued office suite by Microsoft. Works is smaller, was less expensive, and has fewer features than Microsoft Office or other major office suites. There are paired down versions of Office that won't break the bank but you should wait for someone that is more intimate with this to chime in.

Now, ya'll have dealt with women....Jani is comfortable with whatever it is on her old computer, and the template is made. The yowling could be heard at the neighbors when the suggestion was made to start over on her new computer...

Columbus balked a few times when someone told him the world was round too. New experiences in the unknown realm broaden the mind and soul.

Or shit then just fix her old computer. what is the problem with it?

It won't come out of hibernate mode like before. It won't turn off unless you unplug it. Somebody suggested something last time and it worked, just can't remember what it was....

Hold the power button down for 10 or 20 seconds or so and it should either wake up or shut down completely. When you get i fired back up disable the hibernation mode as it is more trouble then it is worth.

If it is a laptop take the battery out for a minute or two and the reinsert it and push the power button to start the computer.

If her template is and excel file then it should work in open office or Libre too.

That has no effect. Unplugged it again and then plugged it back in and it will try to start up for 2 seconds then goes back to sleep...

It may not be going back to sleep, could be your power supply is bad or the power regulation on the motherboard went out.

Jani got her CPU unhooked and on the "project table" of hers. Exposed the innards and gave it a good cleaning and left the inside exposed. I came home from work, grabbed my DMM, and an IEC cord , walked up, plugged it and and commanded----
" COMPUTER,HEAL THYSELF"
and then turned it on.....and off....and on.....and off.....it is now back in Jani's office and doing payroll as we speak....

Jani thinks it was a hint to get her new one up and running....

That was back in May.

leave it unplugged for awhile, if it boots disable hibernation and start the transition to the new computer.
