Miles,

I have a wax cylinder of Mr Young's music if you want to give it a go.

Just say the word and I'll pop it in the mail... :toothy10:
That would be nice!
Maybe it's possible to include the Brothers In Arms cylinder as well.

(two cylinders in one package will probably save shipping costs...)

I love BIG amplifiers!
[...] Paul Mawhinney, a former music-store owner in Pittsburgh, spent more than 40 years amassing a collection of some three million LPs and 45s, many of them bargain-bin rejects that had been thoroughly forgotten. The world’s indifference, he believed, made even the most neglected records precious: music that hadn’t been transferred to digital files would vanish forever unless someone bought his collection and preserved it.

Mawhinney spent about two decades trying to find someone who agreed. He struck a deal for $28.5 million in the late 1990s with the Internet retailer CDNow, he says, but the sale of his collection fell through when the dot-com bubble started to quiver. He contacted the Library of Congress, but negotiations fizzled. In 2008 he auctioned the collection on eBay for $3,002,150, but the winning bidder turned out to be an unsuspecting Irishman who said his account had been hacked. [...]

Listened to both the Fugu and Magnog tracks. Nice harmonies on F-31. Great-sounding track. Thanks for the pictures, Daren.

Thanks Nando.

I intend to sell-off the last of my vinyl in the very near future and this has given me an opportunity to share a few lesser-known artists via this thread.

The records are just hanging around gathering dust and I'd much rather move them on and let someone else enjoy them. There will be one or two that I'll look to pick up on CD.

This reorganization is all part of a wider plan to reduce my music collection by around 30%. When complete, I’ll have a small, but well appointed selection.

I will repeat the exercise again in a few years.

Broken beyond repair but highly affable
The ones with the secret code that say AOL are good on both sides, unless you want to sell them on eBay...

I culled a few LPs in a garage sale we had a couple of years ago. But, anything I collect, now, is predominantly vinyl. The new Spoon CD I picked up is god-awful for sound and yet the new Clapton JJ Cale tribute CD is great, but not excellent.

Records stacked like that is a disaster. You know how much mold is growing in those piles? Humid environment, wooden structure and no climate control. Not to mention stacked flat haphazardly

A fool and his money

That sawblade vinyl is killer. Sadly this was the last post of the obscure 90's vinyl, rounding out the 10/10. Enjoyed checking these out Daren. Thanks for sharing them with us.
