Gary's good tunes 700 build

I'm going to take the liberty of telling people it's a WOPL 1000 anyway or is that verboten?

All 700's that get WOPL'd to that extent are called WOPL 1000's....980 watts is close e-fucking-nough....a little clip and your there...

Gary - Right now the faceplate has no level controls, no meter switch and the power switch hmmm... might have had a knob in place at one time, but not at the moment.

Since we're going to bypass the level controls anyway, that's no problem... but the power switch (primary concern) and meter switch (secondary) bother me here. I don't have the rotary type switches to replace them with, but there are other options like toggle switches - which if you can visualize I don't think would look half bad...

Unless you have some of the hardware??

I packed everything except the covers for the output transistors which are still here, all else was sent with the amp. The knobs are bubble wrapped in a ziplock bag, have a look between the heatsink fins.

I know the power switch is not original, it was installed before I got the amp in 1990, but it is looked heavy duty, always worked and seems well attached to the face plate.

The rotary level controls are attached to the coaxial leads that I tucked inside the chassis. The meter switch should be still attached to it's leads going to the meter board.

LOL ok now I see (literally.. I just pulled the top off).. Good deal - we'll have ya up and running in no time.

Nothing like throwing a scare into a fella especially since, for various reasons, the brain cell count is down a tad from factory original.

Jer, I have the light board.....forgot to send it....and those pesky 96's and 95's too....

I have some packing and shipping to do tonight Jer, so I'll get those out too. What color did Gary want?

Dunno.. yeah Gary.. what color? White's nice IMO... gives the meters a kind of silvery look to them. Blue's a little too dark, but that's just my view on em...

Lee and I bandied about light colour and white sounds good to me.
