I'm here, just getting Spongled with Sally, blowing the cobwebs off her so to speak

You talked to Debbie already so everything is squared away I guess? She took off to Girl Scouts w/ Makala and Shyla so I won't see her until 8 or 9pm. I let her handle logistics and everything as you can see, she is good at getting the details sorted out so everything goes smoothly LMAO

yeah, she's a kick in the pants, love talkin to her. It's all set up. There's 400 at WAl-Mart and Joe will have another 500.00 when ya see him...

Nice, already have a pallet and an area squared away for the mega stack. Can you imagine them all working and hooking them up to some monster bass bins pumping Are You Spongled? I'd bet it would register with the USGS

It arrived today. The Fed Ex man dropped it in my driveway and my doberman was barking and growling at him. :rabbit:

I did bring it inside and unpacked it. Not sure if the curls of black smoke are normal, but I'll check it out over the weekend.

That is all for now.

Broken beyond repair but highly affable

Did you perform an EXORCISM?

Now it works...must take a 7 1/2!

Not till I crank it up some. Maybe I should send it to Stereo rob and he could do the cleansing.
I meant I was having trouble posting, unsure as to software or my hardware so that's apparently over.

Well I hooked her up to a Nikko Beta 400 pre and Some JBL L-7's cranked some tunes in my lower level tonight. I was only able to listen for about 45 minute or so just barely long enough to warm the amp up. Well it didn't even warm up the amp, when I turned her off everything was still room temp. No copper fins needed here.

The only issues I had must be traveling related as some of the meter lights and badge lights were not working. I flicked my finger on the meters a few times and the lights came back on. The blue badge light look like one of the bulbs is not working though.

Sound wise I am pretty impressed and kept finding myself wanting to turn her up some more. I listened to some Petty, George Harrison, Frank Stallone, and Matchbox 20. Unfortunately the meter switch in the standard poisition doesn't give enough meter bounce and in the 20x position wants to bury the needles. I think a 10x or 5x position would be just right for me. :-o Sorry no ear bleeding here.

The amp sounded very nicely balanced in putting out effortless bass, while producing nice detailed mids and highs. Yeah I know a lot is determined by the speakers selected, but the amp seemed to produce pleasing music effortlessly at what you head bangers would call just above idle. I had the input attns maxed out on the amp and let the pre attenuate the signals. I was playing cds using a Samund Sacd player with the cd direct selected on the pre.

I'll have more time to blast away at it tomorrow. Hopefully some images and or videos.

Nice sounders, eh John?? Yep, in fact I actually am now listening direct.. no eq.. no bass. no treble.. no loudness. DAC's variable output right into the 700B, and it's incredible. I can get used to that sound..

That's my whole setup, right there (at the moment.. hehe), except Blackie but hopefully he'll be leaving for NZ soon. :evil3:

Yeah, I mentioned the lights to Lee awhile back. Not a bad sounding amp at all eh? Not even Full Comp yet! I can't wait until I can say I have one of my own! I never use tone controls, simply not needed with a WOPL especially

So far so good. I will stretch it's legs again later on today.

I use the tone controls depending upon the input as cd's sound different then mp3's and tape is entirely another animal.

I get you. I just stick to regular cd's and records. The infrequent cassette only gets the noise reduction switched on and I am trying to get away from those so I have a bunch of cassette decks available if anyone is interested

After more than 34 years, I've learned to love the bomb and play the cassettes.

Interested in a Tascam 122 Mk2 for a parts machine if anyone has one. That is the only deck I really like but it has not proven to be all that reliable.

I have a bunch of mp3's maybe 30,000 of questionable origin. If equalizer and or tone controls applied they can be almost listenable. I let my ears be the judge, If something needs more or less bass or treble to me ears. I am not afraid to tweak it with the controls or eq.

I usually listen to a few passeges from the first song and make my tweaks and then I am good for the entrie tape or even CD for that matter.

Glad to hear it's with Webby as I thought it was gonna come here from you Ron and had just assumed you'd not shipped it or it had vanished.....
Nope, Lee had the call tags for John??? He sends me the tags to ship whatever he needs where. Maybe he has you earmarked for next?
