That would be one of the hot spots - a few hot springs and some nice swimming holes on the Ventura River and the Sespe Creek along with a few other areas like Matilija Hot Springs and some places along the creek. Did you ever make it to Ojai?

Spent 2 weeks backpackin with my 9th grade biology teacher and a guy named "Condor Cardey" , he was photographing as many of the last remaining condors he could. Rough 2 weeks, went in one end of the Los Padres and out the other. Got 36 on film though. He was contracted to National Geographic.

If I was "bias happy" the readings would have been much higher. as it was they were exactly half of what they should have been, thus...

That is some rough country. Did you hike in the Sespe Condor Sanctuary? I use to hike the creek - more like a river in the winter and we saw some of the last condors in the wild prior to their capture. That was very controversial but it worked out very well for the species. That was the first attempt at capturing and breeding wild birds for later release - they captured all of the remaining wild birds for this. When that started there were IIRC something under 30 remaining. I remember looking up in an area of the Sespe with steep cliffs a thousand feet or so above the creek and seeing something that looked like an airplane but realized that it was a condor thermalling above the cliffs.

We would fly fish and have 12" to 18" Steelhead Trout for breakfast and/or dinner. The Steelhead are now endangered - guess we ate too many of them.

I fished some creek we hiked by....caught some rainbows too. Was told by my teacher there were no fish in there. came back with a 12 and 10 inch rainbow and he had to....:stfu::stfu:

Yeahh it was the sanctuary and then some. There were some scattered outside that area...

The North American condors didn't have a very diverse gene pool so they were mated to the South American species to get a bit more diversity. Kinda like mating a West Virginian with someone not related. :-o

So, we have achieved a max out at 4 ohms reading on a stock 700B. Only took 120 posts, and 4 hours.....jeez...

774 watts, not bad...might even wake up the dead...

Gibsonian has been looking for this little tidbit for awhile...774 Scott....
Thank you Lee!
