Just found this thread. Zakk used to be one of my fav guitar players.

Check out some of his first bands stuff. Pride and Glory. Country/Rock, Skynyrd type goodness. Pre wanna-be biker, heavy metal cave man days.

Better yet, an early solo from his when he was just starting out with Ozzy.

Ive seen Black Label Society (his newest band) and him play with Ozzy 3 times. He certainly doesnt play like he used to.

Trust me, Zakk still has his chops, I have known him for years and in fact just got an email from him wishing me a Merry X-mas. It was tough a few years ago when he was drinking heavy and also lost his gig with Ozzy but since then, he has moved on and is doing pretty good

You mean to tell me you are friends with Zakk Wylde?

I been a big Zakk fan for a long time. The man can still shred, I just wish he'd change it up a bit. It'd be nice(imo) to see a project similar to his Pride and Glory work. I miss his late 80's early 90's riffs and tone.

From what I have read there had been ongoing issues with Ozzy and Zakk since about the time Ozzmosis was released. Although it had seemed they'd gotten over the whole GNR debacle, things didnt quite seem right afterwards. Ozzy had used several writers for Ozzmosis. Steve Vai being one of them. Im pretty sure he wrote My Little Man, and a couple others.

Im sure the whole blood clot in his leg slowed him up a bit a few years back as well. Its nice that he's still making music, but, the BLS scene has grown tiresome for me.

I know him and the way we met was wierd. A very longtime ago, there was a special offer for something that for whatever reason was never delivered and I contacted him through a mutual friend about it (a limited edition toy). Through no fault of his own, it never materialized and he caught flak over it. We stayed in touch since. I would not say I am a friend in the truest sense but we still correspond and I have been backstage at a few BLS shows as his guest

I met a band called the Wild Colonials years ago in Boise when they had a song called Charm, once at the pre-concert party and again at the show.

Pride and glory kicked ass. I still hope he would do it again someday. I have a skynyrd VHS from 94 at fox theater in Atlanta and Charlie daniels,Brett micheals, zakk wylde, Tom kiefer and peter frampton and Donnie van zant all have acoustic guitars and each do a song . Zakk did comin home and not to bad either.

Agreed 100% dood, another P&G would be sweet.

I have an Allman Brothers bootleg on MP3 called Zakk Goes Wylde. Apparently Zakk played guitar for a 1 night show for them. Man is it nuts.

Yeah I forgot about that ABB show. I'm friends with a few of the brothers and crew and they still laugh about how bad a choice that was lol. It was a 1 show deal and they said sry you got to go lmfao.

To a pickey abb fan. It wasn't good at all IMO lol. I'm not a big fan of abb with Derek and warren and there 2 of my fav players. But without dickey betts they have just became a cover band like the dead always was. Best part is that last week Derek and warren announced there retirement from abb this will be the last year for them. So I'd like to think abb will be no more!!!

Tribute/cover band whatever sounds better lol. I'm a skynyrd fan to death but nowadays I'm a Gary rossington fan and good friend with all the guys. Johnny colt is kinda a dick but the rest are good dudes but me Gary and Rickey medlocke are great friends . But the newer music sucks lol

Allman Bros---"Live at The Fillmore East" is still one of my favorites, Midnight Rider the best of that. Ya get to thinkin about it, if not for JJ Cale, the hit count would be a lot less.
