Your opinion on Fuse speaker location

I bought a 400 new in the mid 70's and it still performs like the day it was bought. 100% stock with all original parts. The speakers are fused still

Imagine what it would have been if they were building the amps of the quality that this team is putting out now...I think, perhaps a different story.
