Wyn is working on a new power amp...

Maybe when I get old and can't figure out how to turn a REAL amp on................

HUH??? What does a chip amp have to do with a power supply?? The chip amp IS an amplifier.

Have a variable oscillator running 60hz or so and amplify that with a chip amp to run the synchronous motor in my turntable, should give me variable speed control over the motor

Damn, doin things the hard way Kyle................

Class A-B (I think) feed forward design. Not class D anyway. Similar to the concept of the Benchmark amps while avoiding any patent issues with the THX design.

Still “on paper” as he says but I’m very interested. It’ll need a real transformer…

A class A-B Chip amp??? That's like putting a blower on an EV..... You might need a pair of large...... Naw....... If it's a patent issue/Home theater issue, you need to find a new builder.

Many spoke as you do when he was doing his op-amp phono pre with switching power supply... they are no longer mocking.

The guy DESIGNED these chips and knows them (literally) inside and out. I have faith; but fear the total power will be too low for me when he's done.

I really want him to do a line amp for me (well, for the world) but he is not "challenged" by the task and therefore bored by it. The power amp came out of left field a bit, but I know his personal parameters for "good" will not allow it to suck. It'll either be great or not be made.

Micro Seiki. BL-71 and up. Even the -51 is really quite nice.

Yeah, I don't like the results of cobbling shit together. After a couple of years of cobbling (and Kyle, you can cobble alot of stuff) you have a cobbled mess and it may OR MAY NOT, even sound good. If you have to keep adding to it to get it to work (or work correctly), maybe it's time to buy things complete. You end up blowing more cash and labor and still end up a couple years later with a sub par unit.

Dangerous stand, wishing and hoping his shit works. 50-60 watts is lame and I wouldn't tell my friend. I don't care if it sound like the angles having an orgasm, iffn ya can get it up (as in volume), it aint worth a fuck and you got zero headroom and no place to go but down.

I use a delrin platter. I recycled the glass shit in cali when recycle prices went up back in 2010.
