Hey Guys...
The title says it all. I'm looking for a PL700B that is nice cosmetically and function is not an issue as long as the power supply is okay.
The nicer the better...does anyone have a line or better yet an amp?
Thanks,
Dave

I wonder if the little woman's name is Lorena Bobbitt?
:whax::whax::whax::whax::whax::whax::whax:

That's an amazing ad. I might take my wife down to St. Louis for an overnighter and get this after Christmas...if it's still there.
Too bad the weather sucks and it's the holidays or I'd be on my way right now!

I already know he will take less. I think I have the price he will take in an email from a guy looking to buy it.

Yeah....I'd say everyone on this site and several others are looking for a 700B also, just like you described.

That one in StL is in my old stomping grounds. Might have to send a friend by to take a look and make an offer.

The story here is that the guy will take less but cannot ship it himself which is why it is on CL. He would take it to the UPS store where they will charge him insane prices to pack and ship it.

I see, I have several friends in St Louis that would not have an issue with packing and shipping it

Lest we forget little ol' ME? I was trying to offload one here to the group that was beautiful several months ago. Cudda hooked you up. Not for $50 though. (I think that add is still in the buy/sell/trade section from forever ago?) I sold that 700B and used UPS right here in St. Louis myself. WITH the wood case in tow; it was $75 to ship standard ground. That doesn't sound insane to me? That guy has carver too? As do I. But I swear to you Lee and Joe that it's not me. Ha ha. MY lady tells me to "crank it up"! And i have two of them with joe's beautiful light boards. Big loss for that guy. I love the 700B with a passion. :) Give me some more details if you are willing to bite on the guys demands? Maybe I can help a member out? Pick it up and ship it for you or something? Dunno........

I had a friend in FL that was trying to do the deal with this guy in STL to add a second PL700B to his system. They had basically done the deal and then the guy said he had no means to package it and ship it but would take it to the UPS shipping center. Their quote was $120 for the box and foam and $96 in shipping charges. That pretty much killed the deal on the spot.

Would for me too. If we have this situation again, I can ship the cabbage case to where ever with a shipping label the guy can plop on the outside and be done with it. It takes approximately 1-1/2 minutes from epening the case to closed and ready to ship, my sister even did it. The training coordinater, not the teacher...

Ah. I didn't think he was using UPS supplies to do so. I had my own boxes here that were double in size of the amp itself and very well packed. (Think Ed Blackwood box). That $75 quote I gave also included shipping with insurance. But I should have thought that $75 may mean big bucks if you're only spending a couple hundred or less for a partially or non working amp. Mine was in great shape. The cabbage case in this retrospect seems like the perfect choice here. (Sorry for butting in guys).............. :p

Dave, I also have a commercial FED-EX account (thanks Larrt). It's about 30% less than standard. Print out my own labels etc, terribly handy....
