Despite being wide angle dispersion, the blue LEDs produce the most straight line, directional, coherent light output and are the most difficult to achieve no shadow.

The most forgiving is the warm white LEDs, the clear white come somewhere in between. My go to in all my amps is warm white, it looks original.

All LEDs are formed 90 degrees and point straight north. Getting them to just 'kiss' the front inner face of the clear meter lens provides the most even dispersion and minimizes any shadowing. You want the light to essentially 'wash' the inner face of the clear bezel to the greatest extent possible.

With a bit of messing around, you will achieve even illumination and little to no shadowing.
