The guys on facebook asked me that yesterday. They must think I'm part of the Lunatic Fringe. Maybe I am. I sat here and looked around me and there are no less than 9 decks sitting here. May be I am crazy. LOL

Larry

The maybe can safely be removed from that statement.

We're all nutters :roll: When flush with cash, I bought ton's of metals. I bought TDK MA-XG's by the mini case, those cute little 5pc boxes every other week for a year to support my habit. This was in the late 80's, must've had 40 of the buggers :mrgreen: . Of course, there were scads of type II's and other metals from other companies to experiment with.

I still have almost all of them, and they play beautifully. Strange because alot of them have been in very bad environments, in a totebag at the beach in Miami and Cancun, the car in the summer in Dallas, and the freezing cold in NYC and Des Moines. Some in a shed here in Arizona that I forgot about.

This should be a commercial for TDK's :lol:

So yes Larry, I buy metals, prefer them. I've gotten to understand and like type I's and II's through my friends and enablers at TH, and now have more than I could ever possibly use for many years :cheers:

Stuwee,

That's a classic picture of your TDK MA-XGs. Almost worthy as an insert for the new SubClones album.

Nando.

I'm not that thrilled with what I've heard of sub-clones yet, Nando, I still have at least 15 CD's you haven't heard yet that are better than that.

Lee: I think what would be anti-climatic is to be underwhelmed after all the lead up to the release of SubClones. I'm trusting Parsons has created an album which will grow on you. i would say the last three new release CDs of old artists I grew up, had the same impact. I expected more, at first, and grew to love them, just like living with Geri.

I've got more than a dozen, TWO 8-track recorders, two reel to reel decks working and one fixer plus several VCRs in this room alone.

So the Akai exceeded your expectations?? When my TT from Larry gets here Steve i will hijack the box and get that PL-A45D on the way.

the twin cherries of my humble Compact Cassette collection;
the 1985 and 1990 versions of the legendary TYPE-IV TDK MA-XG;

MA-XG1986-19902-06-11.jpg

both were gifted to me; the 1985 ver. by our pal STUWEE,
and the 1990 BY TH (and fellow member here as well?) BRAXUS.

thanks so very much, guys...
