what are you listening to?

Shpongle Track "Divine Moments of Truth" had the VU Meters hitting +7db, this Sony XR Metal Cassette can sure take some signal, no audible distortion to my ears whilst monitoring. Nice.

What does the deck go down to?

Signal to noise ratio: 59dB
Wow and flutter: 0.035% wrms
Channel separation: 40dB
Crosstalk: 60dB
Harmonic distortion: 0.7% (type IV tape)
Heads: 1 x record, 1 x playback, 1 x erase
Motors: 1 x dd motor for capstan, 1 x dc for reel, 1 x dc for mechanism

I'm working on a Video for it with direct sound feed.

That's a world class low freq spec there.

Very high end Nakamichi Deck Owners get pissed when they see these specs. They refuse to believe them. Not many decks would beat this JVC for price/performance ratio. Its a "Sleeper" deck.

Shpongle - Tales of the Inexpressible - PC to Sony Metal XR Cassette on JVC TD-V661 Deck, Dolby B, +7db Peaks

Damn D2 - that sounds great. Glad you've been Shpongled! Lee did me in about a year ago and I have most of the CD's now - at least those I found.

I just looked up their vinyl for sale and its very expensive. Would cost me on average $50-$100 per album. Going to check out the CD store tomorrow after work :bounce:

Can ~ Ege Bamyasi

One of my least favourite Can albums. In fact the (early) CD copy I have sounds so poor that I will either sell it on or freecycle it.
