what are you listening to?

'One I Want'

'Fire in the Hole'

:salute:

One I Want playing at the moment.

If there was ever a middle ground somewhere between Sammy and Dave, I think Gary fits there very well.

Eric Dover could have easily been the more Dave side of that middle ground I guess...

Party at Eddies!!!

You might enjoy this if you havent seen it before Tony. :bounce:

Gary completely worked it on some tracks; took the "Extreme" on others. :-P

He's generally under appreciated by most but I like his contributions, as they've stood the test of time!

Thanks for the vid-link btw!

Couldnt have said it better myself.

Its also interesting to hear Eddie riffs that youll never see live again. It was thought years ago, you'd never hear DLR material live again other than the big hits that Sammy would play. But I think its safe to say none of the VHIII songs will ever be featured live.

Just rediscovered John Couger's "Nothing Matters and What If It Did" One clean, good sounding recording, and his first and best IMO. Funny thing, and I've done this a few times - I bought an LP only to discover I already had it! Time to catalog em I think.

It's not like they'll ever press most of them again...and if they are only a dollar or two (or 25 cents at a yard sale) what's the crime?

Lots of Listening this week. All these Vinyls were transferred to Tape using the Nakamichi 480 (until the orange capacitors went) then the JVC TD-V661 3 head (Mainly TDK AD/Maxell UD-I Type 1's No Dolby Used) / Sanyo Betahifi VTC-M40 (Sony and BASF Chromadioxid tapes) / PC @ 24-bit/96000hz

Rolling Stones - Goats Head Soup

Got that and some Led Zeppelin album on 8-track...among OTHERS.

My Led Zeppelin 8 Tracks. The Pink ones are rather worn, but the black one is near new. Thumbs up for the Goats head soup on 8 track :)

I love seeing classic rock titles on 8-track! I haven't played one in some time. A friend of mine, Robert, picked up some great 8-tracks for me, including a fairly rare one by ELP I haven't seen on other formats.

Nando.

Goo Goo Dolls - A Boy Named Goo

Brain Salad Surgery is the only ELP 8 track I own, great album. Which one do you have?

you should find yourself an 8 track recorder, and then you could re-do some of your worn tapes.

I have a recorder, but it doesn't record that great and I don't have any "decent" blank tapes, maybe in the future =).

Santana - Santana - Thorens TD 160 Super Turntable to Cassette/Betahifi/PC 24/96

Turntable due for a clean, damn dust on my precious SME 3009 SE2 Improved arm!

use a soft rinse cycle on your dishwasher.
they come up sparkling.

When I can be bothered it will get polished again. last session went for 6 hours. A quick wipe with a dry soft cloth will do until then :toothy10:

you should use a soft camel haired photographer's brush.
the least you handle that arm the better, as inevitably, the pivot bearings will start to incur a slight amount of 'play' just from overhandling whilst cleaning.

trust me, i'm older, and i know about this sh*t...... :laughing9:

Thanks George. I'll keep that in mind, hope I have not damaged it already. It sounds lovely.
