what are you listening to?

Thanks, Pat. I thought we owned similar tables. I looked up that album. It's an oldie - back to 1970. Looking at the band's discography, I find many I need to add. Have you got "In Search Of The Lost Chord?"

Nando.

Its an oldie alright but a goodie!
I don't have ISOTLC as I really only like 'Quo up till the Back To Back album in 1983 and after that I think they lost their way a bit.
I have almost all their 70's albums though and still play them regularly.

Is 'In Search Of... a good album?

I don't have it, but I find it has a curious history behind the concept. I just picked up the latest Deep Purple on CD. Played a little of it last night and I like it, so far.

Its amazing that bands of that vintage can still produce good new music!

ZZ Top are playing here in June, have tickets bought and am looking forward to that.

Ride My See-Saw

Legend Of A Mind...

One of the best LPs of '68 and I have Seventh Sojourn, Long Distance Voyager and Then...And Now is it? the GH package on cassette, unless other stuff is hiding from me. My poster for Every Good Boy Deserves Favour went to shreds years back though :sad9:

Sounds great. Ben has been to a few ZZ Top concerts. My cousin and his daughter saw Fleetwood Mac last Sunday. Fantastic concert with a double-encore for the adoring fans - most of them our age.

Nando.

I have never been to a ZZ Top gig before but have their Live in Huston dvd which I love.
The create some noise for a three piece!!

Who are you bringing to the concert? I can think of a great Canadian three piece that can mix it up on stage, too - RUSH.

My 18 year old daughter is coming along as my wife would not be too keen on them.

Actually listening to Caress Of Steel right now ( Bastille Day)

Hey Pat, youll be in for a treat seeing ZZ. I saw them back in october or november. They sure can kick it live. They played I Gots Ta Get Paid, and Chartreuse off the new album. Dusty's bass is absolutely insane on I Gots Ta Get Paid. He really holds the band together. Especially when Billy is rocking a solo. One thing to be said about a good 3 piece, even though they lack a second guitar player, a good bass player keeps that rhythm section tight, and Dusty I think has mastered that. Too bad his voice isnt quite as good as it used to be. Would have been nice to hear some HiFi Mama. Tube Snake Boogie, was another really well done tune. My Heads in Mississippi and Vincent Price Blues were a couple other songs I was surprised to hear.

I'm really looking forward to it for sure,Ben.
I would love to hear them play 'Just Got Paid'

Im pretty sure they did play that when I saw them. Their set list contained just under 20 songs. A good variety of stuff from over the years, including some of the more recent albums. Some other tracks were I Thank You, Waitin For The Bus, Jesus Just Left Chicago, Cheap Sunglasses, along with some of the more radio friendly tunes, Tush, La Grange, Legs and so on.
