Up here in the frozen wastelands we aren't exposed to the high end stuff just walking around the neighborhood. I don't know if there is a stereo store left in Wyoming.
Bob's comments just struck a chord of longing to be able to do that. A weekend with your buds checking out hot new audio shit ....don't get no better than that...
Unless your fishing at the Mile.....
Indeed. I suspect my ears would prefer the db level of the Mile but going back over in early January with a stack of records and maybe the Pyxi to compare, as well. Just the two of us with no one else insisting we play something for them. Robert installed his new VAS-rebuilt VPI tonearm this weekend and is reporting great results with a Dynavector 20x2 cartridge (his original tonearm is headed back to VAS for a rewire - the right channel went out). I want to feel that Hammond on Live Bullet...
I know that feeling. I'd forgotten how good a songwriter Jessie Colter is. It took that rendition of I'm Looking For Blue Eyes by Shelby Lynn and her sister - Allison Moorer - on their Not Dark Yet album to remind me.
